Why tf did your kid have 3 missing assignments to begin with? My kid has never not turned in an assignment.

DP and some of us don’t have perfect families like you do.

Translation: your kid knew they were missing, but you didn’t.

+1 Bingo. Mom is completely checked out and waits until the end of the quarter to gather information. If you keep up all quarter long then nothing surprises you at the end and you don’t need to worry about anything that needs to be made up. You should be checking in weekly with your kids - asking what homework is, spot checking assignments. Get on Schoology to see the due dates on the calendar. Sick of the excuses and poor parenting. My kids learned from elementary that we prioritize schoolwork. Getting assignments in on time is expected and not hard.

DP. Not the end of the quarter, the beginning of the quarter. Grade Book was closed after the end of the quarter. But carry on with your rant.

The ES grades take a lot of time to determine and enter into SIS. They aren't percentage based cumulative grades that are determined throughout a quarter.

Hahahhahaha. Tell that to my kid's teacher who gave her straight 3s across the board despite the fact that she is both (a) getting remedial reading intervention and (b) getting advanced math pull outs.

Stop it. Many of us are caring for kids with ADHD. Btw, even with a 504, teachers expect parents to notice missing assignments and then prompt the kids. That is the defined process. We don’t know what’s missing if the teachers don’t post grades.

Sweetie please. My child had an IEP and now has a 504. He struggles with ADHD and anxiety. I am on top of him and know what his assignments are. No excuses.

This is the problem. You are reactive instead of proactive. You shouldn’t ever wait and be surprised to see what is missing. You figure out what the assignments are at the beginning of each week or day and when they are due and you help your child make a plan to complete them. Have a white board or soemthing visual. I know when my child’s major assignments, quizzes and tests are each week and I work with my child to make sure they are ready and prepared.

Unless the student is an outliner, with unique troubles, a parent should not have to "oversea" their work.

meant oversee

How clueless you are. It’s oversee, but ok…PP mentioned their kid had ADHD so obviously there needs to be more oversight, not less. And it’s just good parenting to make sure your kid is on top of things. 3 missing assignments means your kid definitely needs oversight.
