The ES grades take a lot of time to determine and enter into SIS. They aren't percentage based cumulative grades that are determined throughout a quarter. |
What the hell are you talking about? How long it takes teachers to get their act together? You have no idea how any of this works if you think the delay is because of teachers being slow or disorganized. My school's grades were due to be posted by 12pm on Friday, 1/27. My daughter's school required grades to be posted by 3pm on Thursday, 1/26. All teachers had their students' grades posted by then. Teachers had their acts together. Grades were posted over a week ago. Don't blame teachers for the delay. |
Not for all schools. My kids attend 2 different schools and the paper documents are always posted very late. Neither are there yet. I don’t care at all for my kid in elementary but it’s ridiculous to have the gradebook closed for over 2 weeks in high school. And no, nothing is in Schoology. We checked again today and still only one teacher posts assignments. |
Perhaps at your school, but not ours... |
| For those of you who asked "why do you care so much about gradebook, relax?" Well, gradebook is finally open and it showed that my DS has 3 missing assignments. If we'd all know about that, we would've been on top of it. So thanks a lot. dumbass SIS. |
Shouldn’t your kid know about his/her own missing assignments? Place blame where it actually belongs. |
| HS Teacher. At my school, grades were due NLT 3:00pm on January 27. The teachers all went ahead and posted them by that date. I don't know why there is delay in getting them to parents. |
Why tf did your kid have 3 missing assignments to begin with? My kid has never not turned in an assignment. |
DP and some of us don’t have perfect families like you do. |
Translation: your kid knew they were missing, but you didn’t. |
DP. They keep telling us to look at Grade Book instead of Schoology because Schoology isn't accurate. It's true, it's not. |
actually he did submit the assignments. The teacher hasn't bother to check her Schoology box. Many kids in this class ended up with "missing work" |
| Up now! |
+1 Bingo. Mom is completely checked out and waits until the end of the quarter to gather information. If you keep up all quarter long then nothing surprises you at the end and you don’t need to worry about anything that needs to be made up. You should be checking in weekly with your kids - asking what homework is, spot checking assignments. Get on Schoology to see the due dates on the calendar. Sick of the excuses and poor parenting. My kids learned from elementary that we prioritize schoolwork. Getting assignments in on time is expected and not hard. |
Stop it. Many of us are caring for kids with ADHD. Btw, even with a 504, teachers expect parents to notice missing assignments and then prompt the kids. That is the defined process. We don’t know what’s missing if the teachers don’t post grades. |
