What will your poor child do if they go to a restaurant or concert or movie and smell these things in the bathroom????? Pleazzzzzzzzz! |
I have never been to a restaurant or movie theater and walked in on drug use or violence. Concerts/music festivals, that could happen, but my kid would be an adult by the time that's an issue. Now I'm wondering what's going on in the restaurants and movie theaters that you go to. |
What do you do, man this thread all day long???? |
|
Just catching up with this thread. I'm a bit shocked. My daughter is at Westland MS and will go to BCC. Is this what she has to look forward to? She hasn't mentioned anything untoward happening at her middle school, thank goodness. What about Walter Johnson and Whitman high schools? Are they any better? Wondering if it's worth moving clusters, since we were looking for a new house anyway... |
All MCPS high schools are dealing with this. There's no safe place. It's also happening in No Va too. There was an overdose at an Arlington high school just today: https://www.fox5dc.com/news/student-found-unconscious-in-bathroom-at-wakefield-high-school |
| Speaking of Whitman, one of the higher profile drug overdoses happened to a Whitman student, so again, there's no school or cluster you can move to to avoid this: https://bethesdamagazine.com/2022/04/23/after-whitman-students-fentanyl-overdose-family-hopes-awareness-will-prevent-similar-tragedy/ |
In the wealthy schools, those incidences just get swept more under the rug. That's really the only difference. Rich kids can afford more and expensive drugs. |
| Just expel them and ruin their chances of college. Enough already. |
Finish your statement, "that are tainted with questionable, think fentanyl, substances that cause instantaneous death." Thank you to all who voted for open borders and all that entails. Thank you so very much. |
+1 they can go to community college. Why do should they be able to ruin school for the rest of the kids. |
I'm the PP.. That's a dumb statement. You think fentanyl is only coming from across the border? No, we make those in the good ol' USA ourselves, too. |
Thank you. But are there stats kept on the number of incidents in each school? |
Yes! And today all MCPS administrators had an awesome get together and McKnight handed out logo water bottles to her besties. |
Their actions ruined their chances of college. They are accountable for their behaviors and the consequences attached to them. |
This is a weird statement to make since the Whitman student died of a fentanyl overdose just like other kids throughout the county. Also, expense doesn't really matter since unregulated drugs are being tainted with fentanyl and the kids don't know it when they're taking it. So this isn't an issue wealth is buying your way out of. If you're dabbling with illegal drugs of any kind, you're risking fentanyl exposure and overdosing. |
