We were seated in a booth by the window and in less than a minute there were about 65 high schoolers flooding the restaurant.

First, I am a POC. Second, I grew up in not a great area of Philly so I’m not easily frightened and I’ve seen my fair share of stuff. But if a fight had broken out we couldn’t have gotten out of the restaurant. There were also several older retired folks there having coffee who were much more rattled than me.

It gets loud and borders on out of control quickly. I don’t see how you make it better without some sort of security presence, but even that could really end poorly for the students.

Every restaurant has a back door. Use it to keep you and your kids safe.

The way this McDonald’s is set up is there are two side doors. This one is kind of a weird set up and has a more “modern” seating arrangement which actually makes the flow cramped.

I know the layout. I also know that there is a back door out the kitchen where deliveries come in. Don't limit yourself when it comes to your safety.

NP here. Are you supposed to climb over a mob of teenagers to get to the back door? You're being purposefully difficult, because why? The teens are likely blocking the people in the booth. How are you supposed to get to the entrance near the drive through, the entrance near the door or the back kitchen delivery door if you can't even get out of the dining area or your booth. I live near there and am at Bradlee all the time. I know exactly the layout. Like you just think someone can get out of the booth, climb over the teens, jump over the counter and race out the back, so super easy? FFS.

Also is anyone going to get rid of the homeless man who drinks all day and now is harassing people (including teen girls)?

How about you be "anyone"? What have you done? Have you tried to get the city's attention? Given the homeless man information on Carpenter's Shelter (they are swimming in cash, certainly they can help)? Confronted him when you see him harassing teen girls?

GMAFB. This individual is dangerous and extremely unstable, at best. Just look at what happened in DC yesterday at the Potomac Metro. What if this guy gets a hold of a gun, or some other weapon. His behavior is escalating and everyone is so worried about being as woke as possible they’re not even willing to admit the literal insanity in front of them. This man has been offered services multiple times.

Way to extrapolate. That Metro station shooting has nothing to do with the homeless person at Bradlee Center.

Are you that dense? Can you read? The Potomac Ave Metro shooter had a history of mental illness, a criminal record, and had been violent. Yet the attitude was he was in “crisis” according to

The PP was making a comparison with how society claims we should treat people like this with kid gloves until it’s too late. No one insinuated the two men were connected. You’re being ridiculous.

DP and I agree this is the core issue. The warning signs are there but they are ignored and then people are shocked when something bad happens.
We need to start heading the warning signs.

Looks like yet another round of violence, cops and arrests happening at Bradlee.

I hope no students got shot or stabbed and murdered this time. Or citizens attacked.

Carpenter's Shelter won't take him. He's a drunk and he doesn't want help. They don't deal with that demographic.

They have more than 11 million in the bank. Surely they can help in some way.

What are you wanting them to do? They can't take a drunk person into a shelter where homeless families also stay. Do you want them to throw random cash at him? What makes you think he would use it in a way that would help him?

Guy was in the grassy median on King this morning, and fell backwards into west bound lanes and I almost hit him. Was around 8:30am. It's only a matter of time.
