Jeremy Renner in critical condition

Someone on here was so adamant about how he was going to need an amputation. It was a wild thread of so much certainty that turned out to be so wrong. That said, this seems like quite a catastrophic incident I have no doubt he will have health issues for the rest of his life. But this thread is in some ways a good check on how much DCUM can get wrong.

Like someone said on the college forum yesterday, 99% of what is posted here is opinion and conjecture. If you've been coming here for facts, time to recalibrate your expectations.

It was more than one poster (I was one of them!). I mean honestly I think he must have gotten extraordinarily lucky. Of course we didn't have a lot of information, but the man was run over with like an 18,000 pound vehicle. That is more than an elephant! It must have happened in way where he was like, I don't know, pushed into the snow or protected in some way, but I said then and say now that he is INCREDIBLY fortunate not to be dead, however it happened. Very happy he's doing well, and of course he's incredibly fortunate to have access to the level of medical care he has. I'm happy we were wrong but I don't think anyone said anything particularly irresponsible, I think this was like speculating about how the person who went down in a plane crash was likely dead. Maybe you're wrong in a fluke accident but for the most part, you're dead in that situation.

He does say in that trailer (DP by the way) that he's here due to luck and a lot of titanium.
