What celebs have you met or saw?

I saw Jennifer Connelly at a coffee shop in NY. Shorter than I thought she’d be and very thin.

Daniel Tosh outside a comedy club a few hours before his show at a coffee shop. Very tall, thin and twitchy. Not the most warm of personalities.

I had a pizza lunch with Oprah when I was in college. She was lovely and very kind and asked me lots of questions about my plans. This was in the early 2000s

Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton, various times. Hillary is the nicest of the bunch, Chelsea comes across as painfully shy but remembered me between meetings and we had some childhood friends in common so we’ve had nice chats.

Many Supreme Court justices. RBG was intense and pretty standoffish the first time but the last time I sat next to her at a dinner she was very quiet and introverted. Antonin Scalia is a despicable person but very charming. Told me to call him Nino and openly flirted with me. Years ago then-chief justice Rehnquist propositioned me when I was working at an event for his family. He attempted to grope me and said some very inappropriate things. I was about 20 and super naive and this was also early 2000s before people came forward with that sort of thing. Still feel awful about it.

Jeff Bridges’ daughter was in my class in hs. He was super fun and nice and smoked a LOT of pot with my classmates.

Loads of celeb parents at my kids’ school and in our neighborhood. Daniel Craig & Rachel Weitz live a few houses down from us.

Oh and the most random was when I first moved to nyc I was in the Saks shoe department looking for a pair of shoes to wear the next day on a first date (with the man who became my husband!) and the only other people there were Simon Cowell and his gf. He told me the shoes were “hot” and that I should definitely get them. I did, wore them on the date and we’ve been happily married for almost 15 years. I still have the shoes but I think they’re too small now post-kids.

Ran into Stephen Colbert in a store. No one else recognized him and I thought I was losing my mind, but he could tell I recognized him and quietly sort of winked/laughed to acknowledge me. Super nice. (He was wearing a baseball cap and had a mostly grey beard, so he looked a bit different from what we see on tv.)
