What celebs have you met or saw?

My husband was invited to the White House Correspondents dinner through work twice. The first year he went alone and I was green with envy. I told him, "if you are ever invited again, you need to pull whatever rank you have at work to get a +1 ticket." And he did! It was Obama's last WHCD in 2016 and the event was AMAZING. My interactions with celebs were basically, "I love you, do you mind if we take a photo together?" I was shameless. They were all gracious. I met and took pics with

Gladys Knight
Aretha Franklin
Tony Goldwyn
Morgan Freeman
Damien Lewis
Mindy Kaling
Samantha Ronson
Megan Kelly
Bernie Sanders
John Kerry

Additionally,

I went to a party at Woody Harrelson's hotel penthouse suite in the 1980s when he was promoting a movie that was really hedonistic and gross. Pre #metoo

And I gave Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen and Kenny Loggins (separately) a private tour of a museum I worked at. Kenny then invited me to a private corporate concert he was playing that night. A girlfriend and I went and got to hang out backstage.

I met Ivanka Trump in 2014 at her office in Trump Tower before she went to the dark side. It was a business meeting re: her clothing brand. It was just me, her, and her assistant.

Oooh. Paul Rudd.

I saw him at LAX when I was a teen. He wasn’t incredibly famous yet — I think he was Mike on Friends at the time, but not a full blown star. We didn’t approach him because we didn’t want to be rude! But I’m glad to hear he’s a nice guy.

My mom and I talked to Joel Grey (Broadway guy, was in Wicked at the time) on a people mover at Dulles. Very kind!

Alan Thicke
Gavin Degraw
The two lead male dancers from Center Stage— they were in the Nutcracker at the Kennedy Center the year after that movie came out. I was an offstage vocal performer and got their autographs in the elevator during rehearsal.

At the Today Show, Ann Curry and Al Roker were friendly. Ann loved my little brother and came and chatted with him a few times.

I saw, but didn’t speak to:
Joe Theissman
Andrea Mitchell
Ina Garten
Dakota Fanning
Maria Shriver with Caroline Kennedy and their kids

I saw her at the White House Correspondents dinner red carpet in 2013 and thought she was so beautiful in person. I believe that she was there because of the Apprentice.
She was truly striking and head-turning. I remember feeling surprised because I had never thought of her as particularly beautiful in magazines or even on TV.

I also saw Daniel Day Lewis. What was most striking was how he moved: like a dancer--he glided. Swoon. That was the highlight of the night.

Kristin Chenoweth - Sat next to her on the train to NY. She was amazing! Fun, kind, beautiful. Absolutely love her.

Jessica Biehl - Met her at a work event. Ugly, boring, brain dead. You'd pass her on the street and wouldn't look twice. She's a terrible actress so I have no idea how she made it.

Pp here. I met him about 5 years ago at a wedding, I was 31. I wasn't super into One Direction and hadn't followed his solo career so I knew who he was but wasn't fan girling. God he was so incredibly friendly and kind and good looking. Thr funny thing is that I'm now much more into his music and if I ran into him now, I'd be so tongue tied and flustered.

Now Paul Rudd, I was so flustered talking to him haha. He was friendly and made jokes but I'm pretty sure I looked like an idiot while DH talked to him like theyd been friends for 20 years.

Anonymous wrote:Many many country musicians working in a Nashville coffee shop for years. The absolute best were regulars Nicole Kidman & Keith Urban.

They’re both super polite and their daughters too. Keith, who’s around the Nashville music scene much more, is really outgoing & friendly. Nicole is actually quite & shy.

I nannied for a family who took me on vacation with them to Figure 8 Island in NC. I walked past Alec Baldwin with Kim B. and baby Ireland on the beach. I remember thinking they looked like beautiful people but I wasn't close enough to realize who they were until the mom I worked for told me.
