I can’t decide whether to stay in private or not

Op, I think this is odd timing. You should have been asking yourself and others this question last year. Why ar e you asking it now, after getting your child settled into a private school?

I think if it had been a home run, I would not second guess my decision. But as you can see from my original post, bit of a mixed bag. But I will take the advice to try another year.
