Political Discussion
PP here. So close, and yet so far. It’s not trans- or otherwise LGBTQ-phobic to hold people accountable for their crimes. But it is trans/LGBTQ-phobic to drag their LGBTQ status so prominently into a discussion of an alleged crime that has nothing to do with said status. It would be no more or less of a crime if the individual was cis-het. But that aside, this thread is dumb in the way some of you are trying to spin this alleged crime by a random deputy assistant secretary into evidence of Biden’s supposed corruption. If that’s the best you can do, Biden must be really clean. |
You mean when you constantly deflect by going off-topic? Yeah, sorry. When you've got umpteen other threads on which to obsess, but choose to continue "whatabouting" on this thread (and others), you're going to be reported.
|
Hmm. I don't recall anyone associating this criminal with "Biden's supposed corruption." As for this thread being "dumb," it's certainly no more so than the hundreds of other threads devoted to absolute absurdity on which LWNJs continue to gnash their teeth and clutch their pearls. I mean, there is an entire thread devoted to Republican misdeeds by random, low-level politicians I've never even heard of. Why should Democrats somehow get a pass? |
Go back and read the first few pages where papers were accusing the Biden administration of suppressing the story. |
| You have to wonder how many of his glam shots feature stolen clothes now. |
| Some people have a fetish for stealing and wearing women's clothing. Not sure if that is the case here but I wouldn't be surprised given how open they are about their other kinks and fetishes. |
Especially since this woman’s clothing has disappeared, he refuses to give the luggage back to her, and there is no financial reason he had to steal. He can easily afford luggage and clothing. |
It is such a violation for the woman whose luggage was stolen. Imagine someone going through your luggage with your clothing including your underwear and bras and doing who knows what with it. I wouldn't even want the clothes back just money to reimburse the cost of everything. |
+1 It is a very disturbing situation. I agree, and think most women would feel the same. |

I will ask the OP again....do you see anyone defending this person? Because of they were GOP, you would. NO one is.
|
Actually a poster a commented that Brinton made a mistake by “answering the phone without a lawyer.” Not that stealing from someone was the mistake. |
You do not know if this crime had anything to do with their LGBTQ status. I wonder what could be the possible motivations for an LBGTQ assigned male at birth to steal Vera Bradley luggage and it’s contents? |

Sam was an nuclear waste advisor to the Trump administration as well. Although I agree this has some political significance, it isnt about partisan politics bc Sam served both Trump and Biden administrations.
While Sam is well qualified for the job, they also have a history of what could be deemed high risk behavior (whatever your thoughts on kink, its high risk to become a known thought leader on things like role-playing beastiality). Everyone rolled the dice along with Sam when they hired them-- both the Rs and the Ds. |
Yes and no. It may have gotten more attention, but this is such small potatoes compared to the daily barrage of horrors coming from the previous administration. Stories that should have been front page headlines for a week got buried quickly during the last administration, due to the sheer volume of scandals, crimes and blunders. This guy stealing a suitcase doesn’t compare to multiple presidential impeachments. |
