Thank you for your imperialist mindset, vatnyk.

With Ukraine's government budget financed almost entirely from external sources, it's hard to argue it's not part of an empire.

Yeah, but its our empire, so its different.

But that's the thread in a nutshell. There is a battle over vassals, nothing more complicated than that.

Feel free to disregard the incalculable costs of rebuilding/restoring ongoing damage to Ukrainian infrastructure, a blockade interfering with trade in grain and other exports and the costs of a mounting a defensive war to protect territorial integrity against a terrorist state whose goal is to annihilate the Ukrainian people and its economy. Only an imbecile or malignant propagandist would even attempt to make the argument that Ukraine is part of some undefined, shadowy “empire.” Even Trump had to resort to attempting to extort Zelenskiy for political gain.

No one says it's undefined, moron.

Please explain how a country financed entirely from external sources can remain independent from the parties that finance it.

Or just call more names, I know you're short on logic.

Ukraine is defeating Russia on battlefield and blowing up their bridges.

Why is Russia not friendly?

Here's an example. During World War 2, the Soviet economy was almost entirely supported by the US and its allies to help it fight against the brutal Nazi invaders. The Lend-Lease aid totaled 180 billion dollars in today's dollars ( https://ru.usembassy.gov/world-war-ii-allies-u-s-lend-lease-to-the-soviet-union-1941-1945/ ). But I don't think anyone thinks that the Soviet Union was no longer independent of the US because it received this aid.

Eighty years later, history repeats itself as the US is again helping a country (Ukraine) fight off a brutal invasion.

The earlier report was 8.

"Belarusian watchdog Belarusian Hajun reported that, over the past week, Belarus has transported at least 67 T-72 tanks and 28 Ural military trucks from its Mahilou region to Russia."
https://kyivindependent.com/news-feed/belarus-provides-over-60-tanks-dozens-of-vehicles-to-russia

This does mean more anti-tank weapons would be required and it will consume ammunition, but the T-72's are very old (Vietnam War era) so should be vulnerable to just about every anti-tank weapon in the Ukrainian arsenal.

Russia invaded Ukraine. It was in all the papers. Don’t know how you missed it.

Define “entirely supported” by numbers please.

Umh! I mean, do you actually believe that??? Are you that naive? Ukraine is a democracy, I have not laughed that hard since someone told me Serbia is a democracy. Or for that matter any country in the world, apart from maybe Scandinavian countries, yes, maybe they are democracies.

In 2014, Ukraine held national elections that changed the government.

In 2019, Ukraine held national elections that changed the government.

They passed the test to be called a democracy.

Huh! Your ignorance is showing if you think the Scandinavian countries have a greater claim to being democracies than any others. So clear that that you have no idea. Maybe get yourself some learning, dear.

When a person thinks they are smart it is a sure sign of stupidity. I am unaware of this greater democracy in Ukraine than in Sweden. You can have "elections" and call yourself a democracy, does not make you a real democracy. That is like me calling China socialist, and not a dictatorship.
