The family bible records Huma beating death at the hands of ruffians or how welcome my DH’s parents were when the arrived from Dominica in the 1960s and directed to the bus station to get out of town. New York has welcomed people primarily for tye economic benefit they brought. Now the economic benefit is $1B

This is federal government's doing, immigration is needed but as a steady and planned supply. You get as many as you can accommodate and spread them to places where they can be most beneficial and prosperous.

Federal government should get to just keep open borders and then expect border states to take the burden. Immigrants can't pick and choose which city or state they prefer, they go where need and resources are. Its not human trafficking, its planning and logistics.

There's a difference between "wanting" them vs "providing some humanitarian aid if they get there".

The US doesn't "want" refugees from Ukraine, but we will provide some with refugee status if they come here seeking refugee status.

It’s also means there is a critical mass of the same ethnic illegal immigrants plus resources and systems in place - in the hospitals, in the public schools, church donations and friends & families who funded the migration are already there.
