Maryland is discusting.

Maryland isn't my favorite state but I would hardly call it disgusting?

You couldn’t pay me to live in one of the soulless VA developments mushrooming all over Loudon and Fairfax. And yes, I can afford it.

LOL pretending like your old 1960s rambler in Germantown is so much better. Enjoy your strip mall and Applebees.

Yeah, I’m laughing from my 1913, close-in house at your idea of how we in Maryland live.

No one lives in VA because it's a great place to live.

DP, but LOL, because we weren't the ones who decided you should spend the rest of your days subsidizing people in all the run-down housing now in Wheaton, Montgomery Village, Gaithersburg, and Germantown. You did that to yourselves. Enjoy that old house.

Bragging about a tiny 109 year old house…isn’t doing you any favors.

Exactly this. Median home prices are higher in MD than VA.

The prices you all have been paying for mediocre housing is crazy. I thought we had it bad and apparently we don’t. House hunting in NOVA has been depressing this far.

Depends on where in VA. Mclean, yes. Herndon, no.

Ew, I'd never pay the prices right now for a home in Herndon. It's such an armpit of VA like Sterling, VA.

If I'm paying $900k+, I want in McLean, Loudoun, or somewhere like that.

Herndon, Loundon? They are basically the same. Far out hinterland.

Tell us you haven't been to Herndon without telling us you haven't been to Herndon.

Lol, it’s quite large, with interesting architectural features. You sound jealous.

I grew up in MOCO and currently live in Arlington. I'd happily live in either area but Arlington just works for us right now.

The neighborhood obviously matters much more than the state (or District!) it's in. Potomac is a lot more like McLean than it is like Gaithersburg. Arlington is more like Bethesda than Herndon. Chevy Chase DC is more like Chevy Chase MD than it is like Shaw or Capitol Hill.

But I have an awesome brand new McMansion and only had to fix the replace the foundation and roof not to mention a 2 hour commute in bumper to bumper traffic.

Just a few years ago Shaw was like a war zone. They were pulling out body bags daily. Crazy how things change.

I live in MD and we should have never moved here. Should have gone directly to VA and not even thought about MD.
