I do think that is what they want (I do not and am very much appalled by this). But "states rights" has LONG been code for this sort of thing. |

This is so fcked up. What is wrong with Republicans? How did they become such a-holes? I truly just don't get it. |
Do the rights of the state weigh more than the rights of an individual? This would effectively mean that the state can control whether you ingest or can be prescribed ANY medication. Maybe God will help those with diabetes we just need to take the insulin away and let the body heal itself. Or what about immunosuppressants- they turn down/off your immune system just like birth control stops ovulation and increases cervical mucus to limit the sperm. Why specifically birth control..... |

It is insane to me that we are effectively allowing certain states to be better or worse for half our population. You only have rights in some states, not all.
I mean, I know it has been that way for minority populations for years, and that is wrong as well. Eventually we have to admit that there are some things that need to be nationwide and not determined by the whims of some crazy state legislators and/or a nutty governor. |
| Once they eliminate birth control the next goal will be eliminating a woman's right to vote. |
Republicans are having a lot of trouble with this idea, just as they struggle with the idea of equal rights. |
That or they’ll allow married women to vote with their husband’s (and lesbian couples would not be considered married in the hellscape that people like Amy Barrett and, evidently, most GOP voters want) permission. |
What the fundies in the GOP have been after for years is a Christo-fascist state. It is all about controlling women and returning minorities (religious, racial, ethnic, etc) to a second class status. These people profess to be Christian, but what I learned as a tiny Christian was that Jesus wanted me to take of people who have less and otherwise mind my own business. |
