Actually I live in a different NW neighborhood that a lot of people on here plus consider rough, but if you look at the crime stats, it’s technically safer than georgetown

It's to do with the wealth of the neighborhood. Stop making everything about who is the most put down, subjugated, oppressed peoples. Hands down, it's poor people. And yes we historically systematically ensured that Black people were unable to acquire wealth so money is often divided along racial lines. But any shooting midday like this in a touristy area is just as upsetting.
