416 people were murdered in DC in 2021. |
Thank you...maybe not sketchy but if you are from around here you know that it's not devoid of crime. Not sure I have ever heard of a murder in broad daylight though. |
M Street & Wisconsin and I guess down by the water has always been a little eerie at times but off the thoroughfares it's lovely. |
It’s all those people coming in from Virginia. |
Way too much money for that to happen. Detroit and Baltimore are "hell". The District is beyond filthy rich.
|
Lie. |
I believe the criticism is that those neighborhoods are over-policed. |
+1 That number includes Fairfax, MoCo, and PG counties. DC was at just under 200 by itself, which is high enough without adding in the burbs. |
The city council swears they will buy every violent offender free lattes for a year. Two years for repeat offenders! What do you think they will do? They make excuses for criminals instead of getting them off the street. That's our problem. |
I mean, fairfax county is like 50% higher population than dc and had 21 total homicides in 2021. Let's not pretend it's a significant contributor to the crime in the area lol |
I'm giving the factual basis for the 416 number a PP misattributed to DC. No one is besmirching your murder burb. |
Too much fail |
Does Bowser live in Georgetown? What make you think she would care? |
+1 It peaked with the Kennedys and then held on through the 80s. There has always been a disproportionate amount of crime in Georgetown vs other well off NW neighborhoods. I never understood the allure |
It’s actually sketchy in a lot of areas. I was the victim of a crime on a weekday afternoon in one of the wealthiest pockets of Georgetown. The police were quick to respond bc they were already nearby for a robbery and another crime. This was on a weekday afternoon! |
