| I eat a little fruit after lunch and dinner almost every day. At work we have a salad bar and I always grab a little dish of whatever fresh fruit is out and after dinner at home I usually have a small bowl of some type of berry. I love fruit and having something a little sweet makes meals feel complete. I wouldn't be happy if someone tried to police my fruit with meal consumption. |
There is no fruit that you like? |
Omg lol funny. Seriously. I’m still chuckling. |
But taken one step further - she’s a “I’ll make sure everyone else is a no-frutarian as well” no-frutarian. |
Fruit at end of mean was standard in my Italian family as well (Italian as living in Italy, not US) |
* meal |
I came here to say this. When lived many years in Italy and France and fruit was served after a meal. |
This. We have fruit salad at most dinners unless we had time to make it at breakfast. Some days we do both. |
You really have a stake in this, don't you? Nothing has to be part of every meal, but there is also nothing wrong with having fruit at every meal, or for that matter after dinner. |
I kinda recall a thread started I think by someone who seriously did not like fruit. Not the tastes, not the textures, nothing. |
| We have fruit on the table with dinner maybe 3-4 nights a week, depending on what is being served. Sometimes it’s like cut up fruit salad, sometimes it’s sliced pears or oranges or strawberries or something. It’s just...a normal side dish? |

WHY would you make this your hill to die on.
Any one of us in my family might grab at piece of fruit after dinner - we are all big fruit eaters and I encourage this healthy habit! My husband likes to eat his salad at the end of dinner instead of before the main dish- who cares! I am very appreciative to have a husband who does his share of the cooking and happily eats whatever I serve him when I cook. As long as it doesn't create extra work for me it doesn't bother me. I have much bigger things to worry about! |
Now that is weird. |
Tomatoes are fruit. |
DP. But OP...just because you don't like fruit doesn't mean that your husband has to eat only vegetables. If he likes fruit then he should be able to eat fruit. You get how controlling you're being about this, don't you??? |
