I don't. But I eat a TON of vegetables.

So basically you are one of the weirdos with the fruit hang up? And you are wondering how dare your DH eat an orange after dinner instead of more broccoli?

+1

Adding to it, be glad your dh isn't reaching for a handful of cookies. He's setting a great example imo.

Fruit IS PART OF a healthy meal. It's a little concerning you are not aware of this, OP. They provide valuable vitamins, minerals, and fiber.

Both my family and my husband's family eat fruit as dessert for dinner.

You don't need fruit at every meal as long as you have enough in a day. So you are WRONG.

So what?

Fruit does not need to be part of every meal. Are you ESL?

Are YOU ESL? (Is that supposed to be some sort of insult?)
FYI, saying fruit is a part of A healthy meal is not the same as saying fruit is a part of EVERY healthy meal. So maybe cool it with the gratuitous insults.

My DH always grabs a piece of fruit and eats it at the end of his dinner.

Vegetables and fruit usually have distinctly different flavor profiles. I can see someone wanting a piece of fruit instead of some veggies. Fruits are part of the food pyramid. Maybe you'd feel better about it if you built some fruits into your dinner menu?

It’s okay, OP, fructose isn’t contagious.

We consume a lot of fruits and veggies. And yes, we will end all meals with fruits. We all have our favorite fruits and it is normal for our family to be snacking on some fruit, cheese, veggies...almost all the time. We all are normal weight and in good health. When some fruits are in season - berries, mangoes, citrus fruits, melon - we can't seem to get enough.

why do you not eat fruit?

I just don't enjoy it.

We offer fruit and plain yogurt at the end of every meal. I guess that’s our dessert course?

Fruits, veggies, cheese, nuts are consumed all the time in our household.

Start the dinner out with fruit sometimes, weirdo.

While I think it’s weird that you’ve apparently decided what “dinner…should” be — for someone else. Why not actually include fruit or even a fruit and cheese course as part of a “full dinner”?

This question is weird enough by my standards that I wonder if you and your DH have ever had a conversation about what to eat.

I'm not going to guess what fruit he is in the mood for. I'm not going to cup up apples then throw them out if he wants oranges. Seems pretty controlling to do that.
why can’t you ask him?

He can get it himself. Why would I ask him?

Are you a troll? You’re just arguing for the sake of arguing.

I just don't enjoy it.

Does that mean no one else gets to enjoy fruit?

And this thread is a sign I’m done with dcum for the day. Too many whack jobs in this world. I can’t imagine having a partner who’d berate me for eating fruit after dinner. That dude’s life must totally suck.

My life already sucks because I have to eat fruit instead of real dessert. This poor guy can even eat freaking fruit for dessert.
