TSJ to purchase Washington Spirit

This does not equate to success on the field. However, TSJ youth girls team (aka FCV) could benefit for a while from this by talking up “pathway to pros”. Not sure what league they’ll play in, but that’s besides the point. Many parents and kids will dumbly follow this pipe dream to make $25K a year playing soccer in a two-bit minor league.

If they really want to benefit FCV, the can guarantee a certain number of spots on the spirit for former FCV players. If they want to, the can make the reserve entirely FCV former players

My lord. Please stop this “pathway to the pros” lie. No one from FCV is skipping college and signing a 30,000 pro contract.

Parents will pay for anything

I'll take that bet!
Funny you think Pro pay is as high as 30K!! Not unless you are offensive player of the year in college.

I can promise you WS will be full of FCV kids (even those currently in college will join U23s or reserves because BP calls them) within 3 months of the sale. Why wouldn't the fav's from prior FCV teams take the freebie opportunity to put WS on their resume in some form. It's a plus for FCV, BP and the player. Think Man, think!

3. TSJ is a business. They must create revenue. More money coming in than going out.

I’ll let you figure out how that’s going to happen. Here’s a hint. Your wallet and advertising

And more and more twits from BP!! Oh joy

Haha well probably they get more people going to watch the games… locals (family, friends and rivales). You see this forum cares more about youth soccer than about their local professional team.

What freaking resume? Either they get drafted, get a job, or live in moms basement.

Reserves? Please. Who cares. Nothing more then a U23 adult league for has beens.

You people are mostly idiots. How a pro team talk becomes a Loudoun post. I kinda get the FCV thing but from a high level, the WS will be just a wing of TSJ, it won't be anything more.

Exactly, and as far as Pro to Youth team connections they will amount to little more than meet and greet photo ops.

Thought Michelle Kang has been ready to cut the check.

They money they make off of the girls for the years before they have to start barely paying them to be reserves is probably more revenue than the team will ever produce

She was but the offer and valuation presented were taken off the table.

"Per The Athletic, Baldwin previously made an offer to Kang was "at an overall $22 million valuation," and sources told the outlet that she was ready to write the check.

But, he then reportedly rescinded the offer."

It’s not going to happen. They will be more going out then coming in. Money laundering.

Will FCV buy ECNL?

The Springfield space is too valuable to have the spirit practice there unless they are selling the opportunity to train with the spirit.

You act like the field space would be free to the Spirit. That’s not the case. Spirit would rent it, just as they do their current practice fields. I’d be willing to wager their current field space rents at an higher rate than the rates for Springfield.
