Katherine or Catherine

I know a Catherine who goes by Kate and a Catherine who goes by Kathy.

I think all spellings have the option of Kate--look at Kate Middleton.

Actually, Kate Middleton’s real name is Catherine.
So Kate would work with either C or K. But use a C if you want to be higher up alphabetically. Both are lovely.

I find that strange.

K is the trashiest letter of the alphabet.

Who are these people?

Except for Katherine, name a non trashy name that starts with K...

Kathleen
Karen
Kevin
Kenneth
Kyle
Kai
Kimberly
Kara
Kelly

Ummm...my point stands.

You think Kelly is a trashy name?

+1

I know multiple Catherines who go by Katie.

Maybe that's weird, but it certainly didn't stop them.

(I prefer the C spelling, but I don't have strong feelings. I like Kathryn, a la Janeway, too)

What names do you like? I don't think any of the above names are "trashy." And how on earth is "Kevin" trashy? Or Kenneth? Or Kathleen?

There is also Kathryn. There are people with real problems and you are not one of them! Who gives a rat's behind?!

Personal or nickname preference - it's not that deep.

In our family it's Katherine - my grandmother's first name, my middle name, and my daughter's first name.

Just go with Catriona and move along.
