It’s still offered in 7th. They are just using more stringent criteria for who can take it.

Again, this is something that math departments in the area were already doing because of student performance. It’s not a political thing.

That is for this year's 6th graders only. It is not clear it will be offered for this year's 5th graders in even 7th grade, and they could very well be put in the new classes, which means algebra in 9th grade.

It could also be offered to 6th graders again. Or maybe even 5th. It’s not clear.

That is simply incomparable to GOP astroturfing efforts. There are no DNC PACs or Soros-funded organizations are screaming at school board meetings, frenetically spreading misinformation on Twitter, infiltrating PTAs, ripping masks off of teachers, bullying SB members, etc.

Why would they scream at the School Board members that they supported and put in power? You don't get it. The School Board members are supporters of the agenda that Soros funds.

So you concede that the Ds are not doing anything comparable?

And you think the GOP’s behavior is acceptable? Using our kids are pawns?

What is the “Soros agenda” exactly?

BTW, Ds get elected to school boards here because this is a blue area. And generally the Ds support education and aren’t trying to defund schools.

I don't live in VA, but I can attest that school boards all over the DMV are supporting the same agendas and doing it in similar ways, including circumventing open meetings laws. Even if I agree with the policy, I hate seeing them implemented in non-transparent ways, which only breeds anger and opposition.

There is no justification for violence or extreme behavior at board meetings, but to me, it's almost worse that elected board members are willing to play so fast and loose with procedures in place to allow public input and promote transparency.

How should the school boards handle this escalating GOP rage and violence?

Violence?

Rage? How about listening to the parents.

Yes, how can the SB listen when parents are screaming and starting fights? Spreading misinformation and lies?

They hear parents. They hear parents screaming and pushing misinformation.

Throwing a tantrum is not how you change anyone’s mind.

And, you think keeping an enemy's list is a good idea for a School Board?

Forgot to add-- don't cover up sexual assaults in the schools. That would also be a good start for School Boards.

Is that the list of parents who weren’t throwing tantrums? They were calmly presenting their opinions, backed with data? Respecting the forum/process and waiting their turn to speak?

Or did they do some bad sh1t to end up on a naughty list?

Merely filing lawsuits against the school districts, to get policy changed in the name of equity. Though in these cases the elected school boards were eager to give the plaintiffs what they wanted.

Special needs cases? Jeez.

No, it is about affirmative action.

This one?

https://loudounnow.com/2020/09/07/parents-challenge-loudoun-academies-admission-policy-changes-with-lawsuit/amp/

“ Thirty-seven Loudoun County parents have filed a lawsuit asking a Circuit Court judge to determine whether recently adopted changes to the Academy of Science and the Academy of Engineering and Technology violate their constitutional rights.”

You think Soros backed this lawsuit?

Just let it happen like the nightly destruction at the federal courthouse in Portland, OR.

I am glad a conservative is fighting for schools.
It's too bad it's not bipartisan. Why don't democrats fight for our schools. too?

Because they don’t believe the RWNJ lies? And don’t want to make our kids pawns for political gains? And they aren’t vile POSs?

You mean like their objections to the lack of transparency on the alleged rape at Stone Bridge? Now, that the email from the Superintendent to the School Board proves that they were all aware of it.

Interesting, that the email states that a young girl alleged rape in the bathroom (evidence from a hospital visit supports the allegation) but the police were not called because of that. Why were the police called? Because the dad got angry. Imagine that! A dad getting angry that his daughter was raped.

Who is using the child as a pawn? Angry parents or school administration and school board.
