Do you mean ostracism? And, if so, about what?

NoVa seems polarized just like the rest of the country, but with more people likely to express themselves about it.

At this point, my eyes roll when I see all the left-wing types complain about "astroturfing" by "Koch-funded dark money," just like they do when I see the Daily Caller-type cites complaining about PAC money from Soros organizations. I mean, have at it, but understand that for a lot of us the highly partisan types just end up canceling each other out. So much noise that it's hard to tell who actually wants to focus on education and whether they are capable of doing it without elevating politics over academics.

Which DNC PACs and Soros-funded organizations are screaming at school board meetings, frenetically spreading misinformation on Twitter, infiltrating PTAs, ripping masks off of teachers, bullying SB members, etc.?

I would equally condemn that IF it were actually happening. But it's not...

Meant to say ostrich-ism.

Well they took control of the Commonwealth Attys offices in Northern Virginia. That' s a pretty big "get" that affects the schools. After all, it was the CA in Loudoun who asked for jail time for the dad at the SB meeting---and is in charge of the prosecution of the young man who allegedly attacked the girl. Why did this drag on?

And, the Dems have certainly played a part in electing School Board members. I've no idea what money is behind them, but they are knit pretty tight with the Dems.

These school board members are elected, right? Well, you get what you vote for. Reasonable criticism is fine. Temper tantrums are not. Republicans just can’t figure out how to win elections in VA anymore. That preceded Trump. They are very frustrated. But until proven otherwise, I have to believe that these elected officials properly reflect the values of this county. If they don’t, vote them out.

You mean political organizations (Ds) openly pushing candidates in political elections? How does that compare at all?

We can debate the role political parties play in school board elections (endorsements), but isn’t a uniquely D thing. Rs endorse as well.

Well, the OP of this thread was complaining about "Fight for Schools." So, that was the complaint and response. I have no idea if Koch is involved, but if Koch can pour money into prosecutors, conservatives can certainly pour money iinto school policy.

Now, go do who is behind the prosecutors who want to jail angry parents but skip bail on criminals.

This. There are obviously issues. Who cares who is behind it?

Who was the lady in the rainbow shirt at that board meeting? Was she a County resident?

No, the original comment that was trimmed out above was:

[i]At this point, my eyes roll when I see all the left-wing types complain about "astroturfing" by "Koch-funded dark money," just like they do when I see the Daily Caller-type cites complaining about PAC money from Soros organizations.”

The PP was comparing GOP astroturfing (fake grassroots organizations bringing issues into non-political orgs like PTAs) vs openly supporting politicians that run for office - and both Ds and Rs do.

Those aren’t comparable.

Because there are people with ulterior motives using these “issues” for their own benefit. Not the students’ benefit.

It's all one big conspiracy theory. Haha - was the 2004 election stolen too? These issues are resonating with Democrats too because they're true.

It’s a known campaign tactic going back to The Tea Party.

There may be elements that are true but much of it is misinformation.

LOL! You think there have not been politics in the PTA, Remember, our School Boards are "non-partisan," but we all know that is not true.

Political parties - both D and R - openly endorse and support candidates for school board and commonwealth attorneys.

That is simply incomparable to GOP astroturfing efforts. There are no DNC PACs or Soros-funded organizations are screaming at school board meetings, frenetically spreading misinformation on Twitter, infiltrating PTAs, ripping masks off of teachers, bullying SB members, etc.

There is no "both sides" here.

Why would they scream at the School Board members that they supported and put in power? You don't get it. The School Board members are supporters of the agenda that Soros funds.
