What the hell is going on with Demi Lovato?

However, I was surprised that it's likely about Wilmer Valderrama, whom I though was still a very good friend of hers. Demi won't confirm or deny it's about him, but the ages fit. Though he's 11 years older than his current wife, not 12. Still feels like shots fired.

Petal on the vine, too young to drink wine
Just five years a bleeder, student and a teacher
Far from innocent, what the f's consent?
Numbers told you not to, but that didn't stop you

Finally twenty-nine
Funny, just like you were at the time
Thought it was a teenage dream, just a fantasy
But was it yours or was it mine?
Seventeen, twenty-nine

Had me in your grip, went beautifully with
All my daddy issues and this shit continues
I see you're quite the collector
Yeah, you're twelve years her elder

Maybe now it doesn't matter
But I know f- better
Now I know f- better 'cause I'm

You know she did that intentionally, right?

Intentionally because she thinks it was a predatory relationship, or because she's pissed he moved on, got married, started a family? When did the relationship sour? That's the part I missed.

1. I was surprised to learn that Wilmer is so much older than Demi. They did seem like peers (he seemed younger/she older), probably because of their roles/careers.

2. He doesn't seem predatory, but rather as someone who really cared for her as a person.

3. However...now that it's pointed out his wife is quite a bit younger, there does seem to be a pattern. Though after you are a legal adult, it really shouldn't matter all that much.

?? Did they not choose this life? No one is forced to be a celebrity. Please.

She was 10. Lots of choices then, right?

Are they 10 now? Or are they voluntarily continuing their public lifestyle?

Um, because they were in the business their entire childhood and probably received subpar schooling. What else are they really qualified to do?

With all the money they’ve made - they could do nothing. Or actually go to school.

It's a shame so many celebs think going to school is just something for people to do in order to get a job earning money, rather than to learn. It worked for Drew Barrymore to skip school, but not most of the other people. Also, on a different note, Disney and Nick really chew kids up and spit them out. Seems kind of ironic to me that the two biggest kids channels treat kids the worst.

Someone in a comments section about Jennette McCurdy’s book (I forget where I saw this, maybe Reddit?) said they were a child actor around the same time and that everyone said stay away from the kid networks. That they were horrible to work for and abusive toward kids. It was a far better environment to work on a major network although you wouldn’t become “famous,” and that’s what that person did and they had a positive experience.

She did it intentionally so as to not have it be 100% clear she’s writing about Wilmer.

You really need to do some research into Wilmer. Demi was just one of many young, underage, women that Wilmer preyed upon.
