Charlie Kirk shot at Utah Valley University

By their logic Stephen Miller and JD Vance should deport themselves or at least Usha. They want white Christian nationalists? They don’t fit that mold. Who is Charlie and why do we need to worship him? He is a fairytale to me.

Thought he was bad news. I can't believe that in America, people are losing their jobs over that basic right. I think Donald Trump is a douche too. That does not mean I want someone to attack him. I don't. But I also don't want anyone limiting my right to say he is a douche.

I agree but the issue is that we have otherwise sane and logical people literally cheering his killing.

I’ve seen so many disgusting comments from people I work with and friends. It terrifies me to see this kind of hatred is inside them for another human.

Proves there are demons living amongst us. The good thing is it has exposed the evil nature of some of these sick leftists. Many posts on social media about normal Democrats being disgusted with their party and moving either independent or to the right. Also many posts from people having a desire to open a bible and go to church for the first time. It isn't about right vs left, it is about good vs. evil. All you have to do is read through this thread to see the nasty, hateful nature of many. So sad to see how much the world has fallen into chaos, hate and evil.

I think they will try to weaponize the DOJ and IC against progressive organizations at all levels.

This is terrifying in terms of what it means for our democracy. And no one seems to be noticing or caring.

Why are there no protests? Progressives care about immigrants and Gaza, but not this?

If you want to be mourned in death, live a better life. It is as simple as that. Most people view this as a case of F’d Around and Found Out.

So you are ok with someone killing another human because we don’t like what they say or believe?

I hate the message he was spreading but I don’t think that it’s right to kill another person for what they say.

No. But according to Charlie himself, gun deaths are the price we need to pay for freedom. Of course he probably thought that trans people, six year olds, and gangbangers were appropriate sacrifices to the God of the Second Amendment and never expected to see himself added to the pile of corpses. But there he is, and I’m not terribly sad about it.

Now, you can try to use my lack of caring as a reason to put a bullet in my own head and starve my babies. But what does that say about you? I’ll tell you - nothing good.

I’m not saying you have to mourn him or even give a crap.

What I see as an issue is people are cheerfully celebrating his murder.

I have literally seen NO ONE celebrating his murder and I am liberal and almost all of my friends and people I see are liberal. Yes, I am in a bubble, but I am not seeing this anywhere, including my social media feeds, which include people from all over the country.

OMFG - are you kidding? Tens of thousands of progressives have been openly celebrating his murder.

DP. Tens of thousands? Are they gathering in public with champagne? Or do you mean random people posting on X?

It isn't even random people on X...it is bots/fake accounts generated by troll farms to make people like the PP angry, and it is clearly working. The sad thing is, the administration is using this as a way of weaponizing government against "liberals" which is, in their minds, anyone who isn't MAGA. How soon before we have flags and arm bands signifying our alligence to dear leader?

What are you scared of? My family has been here for 400 years, I am not afraid of these people.

It was also good versus evil when people stormed the US capitol and battered police officers and tried to install Trump as president in 2021. Those were MAGAs and people like you cheered it on.

My family has been here 400 years as well. But on to the topic at hand

...those who are prone to protest, why are they not doing so now?

It literally was just announced a few hours ago (on a podcast) and it has been combined with previous threats to take away people's jobs and money if they don't "mourn" "properly".

The question is why aren't the patriots and libertarians protesting?

Don’t know, but I know people making sure their passports are updated just in case. Why should I do that? Get TF out of here. Average American citizens are updating their passports because they believe they will be deported or it will become sooo bad here?! Really? Like where they gonna go? Talk about drama.

Mandated mourning. Sounds commie, MAGAs.

I'm not protesting because I've been saying all along that we need common sense gun control. It's not my 'side' that pushes for relatively easy availability of guns. I don't believe it's my God-given right to own a gun.
I will protest gun violence, I will mourn for Charlie's friends and family, I will mourn another life unnecessarily lost to a man with a gun in the U.S. But I won't protest specifically on behalf of Charlie because I wish that he had not had the power he had, that he didn't create Turning Point USA and radicalize more right-wingers, that he didn't have a platform to share and spread his beliefs on guns, women, Black people, etc.
