Is the UVA and Charlottesville brand damaged forever?

well?

Not at all. Have you seen the amount of UVA stickers on cars??
There’s UVA paraphernalia for everything!

Nope. Stronger than ever, actually, and coveted beyond human comprehension by parents in nova. I know this this wasn’t the answer you were looking for.

Huh? Why do you think UVA/Charlottesville has been damaged forever?

Virginia schools in general are sought after and UVA remains one of the most competitive of the bunch.

Yes UVA is cursed. I would not send my kids there.

So sorry your child was rejected

UVA isn't Berkeley. White students make up the vast majority of the class. The events of the Charlottesville march may be a sour note for most, but it's mostly the students of color who may be scared away from the school.

Yes, on every August 12, we will be reminded of UVA's damaged reputation. There is no coming back from that anytime soon.

Why would it be? The white supremacist demonstrators weren’t UVA students. They came from out of town. Any students involved were probably counter protesters.

UVA has a law school I’m looking into attending but since I am someone of color I do have my what if scenario going on

+1 You can't blame the entire school for something that the vast majority of the student body wasn't even involved in. It would be like calling Virginia Tech students "murderers" because there have been some rather horrific murders committed on/around the campus over the years by a handful of disturbed individuals.

Most college kids are a happy go lucky, smart, inclusive group to be around.

It a state school in the South.

It is for our family. I consider it to be a Southern state school and would be concerned about sending a non white child there. It also enjoys a high ranking on USNews. There are pros and (imho significant) cons. If I lived in VA in state tuition might prove tempting but as a MD resident I just don’t find the school appealing especially since last August

How old are your kids and, if college age, what schools are they interested in attending?

Honestly, I don't think that any school is completely immune from what happened at UVA. Which schools do you consider to be safe bets for your kids?
