Is the UVA and Charlottesville brand damaged forever?

UVA was built on slavery and racial discrimination.

I think the reputation of the Charlottesville Police Dept. was badly damaged, but that's about it.

I was impressed with how the students and community responded last year. This weekend was uneventful.

From the Northeast, and yes, gave me pause to have my children look at both UVA and W&L. I realize they are both fine schools but there are other fine schools out there without the issues.

ALL schools have issues with racists and white supremacists. Don’t kid yourself. From frat boys singing racist songs on a bus to a dance (with dates laughing) to slurs used in graffiti, this is everywhere.
