I don't understand why Marylanders support this spineless excuse for a Governor. I'm definitely not voting for him in November

| He's the only Republican I voted for in the last election where he was on the ballot. MD was getting out of control with taxing and spending. He has pushed forward on getting a rein in on that, and also furthering transpotation priorities and slowly making MD pro-business. |
I don't see MD becoming more pro-business. He didn't lift a finger when Discovery left Silver Spring. The only people I see him trying to help is his voter base in Ocean City, with his ridiculous Labor Day to June 15 policy which means that Maryland schools don't have a spring break week this year. |
That's the school's fault partially. They can just move their days off for teacher service days if they want to keep those breaks. The benefit of starting school after Labor Day is it's a big benefit to Ocean City and the MD taxpayer (tax revenue), for no additional taxpayer cost. |
| Op, You have some major reading comp issues. Hogan repeatedly states he disagrees with Trump’s policies and is being held out by the writer as a representative of a dofferent wing of the republican party. |
+1 - OP you seem to have an agenda, and that's fine, but your reading comprehension could use some help. I am not a fan of Hogan, probably won't vote for him, but putting him on the Trump train based on these comments is ridiculous. |
| Honestly Jeff should change the title of your thread due to false advertising. I contributed $$$ to 2 Dem campaigns this week (a Texas house race and Claire McCaskill) But I support Hogan for exactly the kinds of comments in your OP. |
+1 I guess to OP unless you publicly and loudly rant against Trump then that must mean you are for him. He's not an apologist. Just maybe not as vocal as others. |
|
Hogan = trump. Period. End of thread.
If you vote for Hogan, you are supporting trump and everything he stands for. That makes you a racist trumptard. |
Compelling argument. Care to share some of your rationale? |
I assume this was a sarcastic summation of OP. |
Sure big benefit to ocean city with no additional cost if you don’t count the learning outcomes for our children. I am not voting for Hogan either. He has been bad on education issues. |
1 week later start is going to have a drastic effect on learning outcomes? |
So it’s ok to sacrifice kids’ learning outcomes for the sake of putting extra $ in the pocket of few Hogan friendly voters? By the way, I’ve never seen evidence that this extra week out of school for Marylanders has an impact on Ocean City revenues, have you? |
| Hogan lied in that interview. I called his office and talked about the impact of the Muslim ban on my household as a Maryland constituent and his staff dismissed me. I’m sure many other Marylands called as well so for him to say that it didn’t affect Marylanders is a lie. Also, some may remember that he was sued for removing comments asking him to speak out on the Muslim ban from his public Facebook page (ie suppressing free speech) and lost the lawsuit and was told he had to allow a diversity of viewpoints on his website. But if you want to ignore his stance on social issues and call him “practically a Democrat”, you’ve got some serious cognitive dissonance going on. |
