Man asked woman to leash her dog in a public park -- she called the police on him

If someone on a bike in an area where no one was around and acted toward me the way that Mr. Cooper did to Amy Cooper, I would’ve felt threatened and called the police, too (read his Facebook post transcribing what he said to her—many women would’ve been . To say that she wanted the police to harm or kill the man is ridiculous. She was seeking protection from someone whom she rationally perceived to be an aggressor. And she was pulling on the scruff of the dog’s neck because she was terrified the man was going to harm the dog or steal it. Race was a nonissue here...she said “African American” as a descriptor in the same way someone would say boy or woman.

I hate, hate, hate, hate the new reality of this mob mentality. It makes me sick that in today’s cancel culture, an incident such as this can ruin someone’s life.

So she told Mr. Cooper he was AA, just as a descriptor, in case he forgot? How does that work?

90% of the people I see with dogs off leash are entitled white people.

Why was that man carrying dog treats with no dog and trying to take her dog?

Read. The. Thread. This has been asked and answered.

There is no reason for him to be giving that dog any treats. No reason.

He said in the NYT that he carries treats because people with unleashed dogs will have to leash them to keep the dog from going for the treat. Simple, elegant tactic. Not to take the dog away.

She has the most calm, logical and intelligent approach to this incident in all of the media. She makes an honest account looking at all sides not just some bs headline That makes us all lynch the “perpetrator” and applaud the “victim “. This situation is not black or white, no pun intended. Perhaps both Cooper’s were wrong actually all three because the sister of the man is also not innocent. They both certainly acted like entitled, Narcissistic fools

This is straight from Trump's playbook. No, this is not two people behaving badly. There are not "good people on both sides". One is Hitler and one is an educated and law abiding Jew.

She is not only racist but she is a cold blooded wanna-be murderer who basically wanted this man to die because he was being a good citizen and inconveniencing her. Her acting to use the PC "African American" instead of any other name tells you the level of her depraved cunning.

The action of this brave man exposed a psychopathic NPD to the world. I worry for the safety of this man because people who stand up for justice are silenced and attacked.

Police brutality is not a myth. This white woman was betting on the cops to silence this guy. Without these videos the truth of how racist America is would never be revealed.

Dude. This is a bit much.

Dude, you need to learn how to quote. I fixed it for you.

And it is ironic that you could post that after what just happened to George Floyd in Minneapolis on the very same day. She is an intelligent college educated and post-graduate degreed professional. She can read the news and see the many stories of what happens to black men that are accused, not even proven, but just accused of violence. And despite the many stories of police brutality on black men she was willing to lie and fabricate a story of a black man threatening and assaulting a white woman and her dog. And listen to her acting as she grows more and more hysterical on the phone, pleading as if he was torturing her when all he was doing was standing there recording her with his phone. Imagine if there was no recording and the police showed up to the two of them arguing after the 911 call. Imagine what they would have done.

And it has happened again and again that black men are shot for a number of fictional reasons including that they were threatening police, resisting arrest, that they made a sudden move, that the officer was sure that they were reaching for the gun. Look at the stories of Botham Jean, Walter Scott, Oscar Grant, Stephon Clark, the list goes on and on. What she did was malicious. I can't believe that anyone is as naive as she claims to be that she didn't realize that she could be signing that man's death warrant. The stories of black men, unarmed men, nonviolent men who are beaten, abused, and killed by white police officers, especially if they are told by a frantic 911 call that the black man was threatening and assaulting a white woman are chilling. And that is what she wanted to happen to him, all for having the audacity to ask her to put her dog on a leash as required by law to protect the wild bird habitat for the protections of the birds.

You are extremely naive, privileged and ignorant if you think that what was said above is too much.

Dude. You called her Hitler. Get a grip.

I am the pp who called her Hitler. She is indeed a female Hitler. Hitler was also evil and did not care if jews died. This woman also does not care if this man dies by police execution. And all of this for what? Just because he asked her to have her dog in a leash as per the written rule of the area and for the conservation of wildlife.

This is to prove that in some cases there are no gray areas. Some people are true evil. She is a sociopath and someone who has NPD. A very dangerous and evil person. She gave me the chills. I am neither Black nor White. She was exposed and she did not rely on that.

UMM no. Her dog walker confirmed he walked the same dog for her TWO YEARS AGO.

Mental breakdown my butt. She deliberated decided to off-leash her dog in Central Park and when called on it - decided to both harass that person and get the police to do the same.

He was recording her and harassing her.

She is a racist and totally in the wrong. But I also think the man’s comments to her about hurting the dog and his calling her Karen in his post make him look less than perfect. BUT that’s peripheral - The video shows what black people still have to deal with.

Her faked fear when calling 911 was chilling. She was not afraid and knew *exactly* what she was doing. Despicable sociopath.

I was walking my 12 pound toy breed dog on a 4 ft. leather leash. A man, woman, and their kid stepped in the walkway with 2 large dogs, breeds that looked similar to greyhounds. I once witnessed an attack of a small toy breed dog by a greyhound at a let fair.

I started walking faster with my dog. My dog pooped a tootsie roll.

The woman with the two large dogs yelled at me, "Ma'am! You're dragging your dog and not picking up the poop."

Well, I carry a little blue plastic fire hydrant of poop bags. My dog had just pooped before I saw the other two dogs. I always pick up after my dog.

I said to her, "I am trying to get away from your two dogs." I returned to the scene of the crime, and picked up my dog's poop with a bag.

The woman with the two bigger dogs seemed to be very accusatory of me. I didn't like how she was accusing me of dragging my dog.

I went back and picked up the poop

NP here. I am a woman. If I was in Amy Karen's shoes, I would 1) stay a safe distance away from Mr. Cooper, 2) Leash my dog so that I could leave quickly, 3) Not tell Mr. Cooper that I will make a false report to the police about him 4) Not make a phone calll to the cop in front of Mr. Cooper.

All the above 4 actions would make me vulnerable to an assailant or aggresive man. Amy Karen was aware that she was not at all in danger from Mr. Cooper so she did all of that. If it was a criminal man, he could have actually been able to assault her. So she was baiting him and then she was callous about his life. This is an evil woman who has pulled the "victim" stunt in the past and profited from it.

So glad that her life is shit right now.

I saw this too. I’m sometimes too empathetic though.

She's had the dog for two years. Is she psychic in this fan fiction as well, or just a poor, sad, white lady who couldn't help herself but threaten to bring the power of the state down on a Black man?

This thread proves that the imbeciles of our society will never recognize how the media and social media are purposefully promoting stories that create division in our society. The super wacko users of social media have no idea they are adding fuel to the fire.

Why was that man carrying dog treats with no dog and trying to take her dog?

Read. The. Thread. This has been asked and answered.

There is no reason for him to be giving that dog any treats. No reason.

Not true at all. A great way to divert and distract an aggressive, OFF LEASH dog.

“Assuming that Amy Cooper is a white conservative Trump supporter desensitizes us to the ways in which even “progressive” white people protect their spaces from Black people. We cannot assume that a liberal or even a progressive political future will save Black people from white fragility and white supremacy and white violence. A long legacy of considering themselves superior doesn’t go away just because someone has a “D” for Democrat behind their name, or on their voter registration.”

See the man in Minnesota who was killed by a cop who had his knee on his throat? That's how "this can ruin someone's life." She tried to use the police as a weapon. Do not discount systemic racism when viewing this incident. Because it matters. It may not be your fault. We were all born into it, regardless of our race. But it's your fault if you ignore it and let it continue. Cancel culture is a small price to pay.... an insignificant one...
