FWIW, Jones is a decent man, but his votes do not reflect the opinions of most Alabama voters. Voting against another good man (Kavanaugh) will hurt him. And, voting to impeach Trump will also hurt.

Jones is toast.

There's definitely a difference between being a US Attorney amd a football coach. One of those jobs provides relevant experience for working in the U.S. government, and it isn't the one where succeeding means you need to cover up your subordinates' raping.

Well yeah it's Alabama and Jones should never have won in the first place - except Republicans decided to put up someone who is clearly not a "good man" or a "decent man" and look where it got them. Jones is widely recognized as the most vulnerable Dem in the Senate this year.

TL;DR: Kavanaugh has nothing to do with it. It's Alabama.

much like Chris Coons (when he originally won the seat), Jones got lucky with how incredibly terrible his opponent was. Someone even a deep red state couldn't stomach.

The seat that Jones holds was always going to be precarious.

I hope he holds onto it and Alabama voters don't vote for a football coach with many, many ethical issues on his resume. I guess if Tuberville isn't PERSONALLY accused of playing with little girls, it probably won't change most R's minds? He also has been pretty shady in financial dealings, but hey, who cares about that, right?

Interesting how the information about Moore did not come out until he won the primary. Wonder how that happened. Also interesting how it all went away when he lost.

Moore was a terrible nominee and my sources in Alabama were strongly against him even before the information came out and did not vote for him in the primary.
This year, if Sessions had not jumped in to the race, Bradley Byrne might have had a really good chance.

Nevertheless, Jones is toast. One of my sources is knows him well and considers him a friend. However, the votes are more than he can support. He will vote for Tuberville. He had really hoped Jones would be more moderate and less political.

Voting against someone who lied under oath for the Supreme Court is political? Ok, Jan.

Alabama gets what it deserves -- another crooked neophyte with nothing to offer but the smell of Trump's rear end on his lips.

Read up on ol' Tommy's business dealings sometime. Or have "your source" do it.

Doesn't surprise me. I live in Virginia and get his emails every day--somertimes twice a day. And, I am a Republican.

Carolina Blue, the super-pac created specifically for Cunningham, is the twelfth highest fundraiser for the 2020 cycle. This is remarkable given that top raising superpacs are usually for presidential nominees or democrats/republicans at large.
