Ha, PP here, I quit The Walking Dead too and feel exactly the same way about watching this show. |
I've been increasingly disenchanted with Toby in recent episodes, but he won me back over with his line, "I would marry the hell out of you, Kate Pearson!" |
Nobody else thinks its weird that Toby wanted to 'do it' in the hospital??????? No duh she was walking dead... she was looking around and it didn't matter because Toby was in a room!!!

The scene with Jack and his father in which Jack asked him for money was so heartbreaking. I bawled like a baby. |
Toby was just being flirty. I don't think anyone's supposed to think he's horny just out of surgery. |
I thought Olivia's bad wig was really weird. I guess it was supposed to be her real hair chopped off in a way that looks like she did it herself, very unevenly. It certainly gives the appearance of someone who is not quite "right". |
Agree. It was weird and distracting. The color was strange for her skin tone, too. Too sallow, or something. Also agree about Jack asking for money. What a tough scene! |
Really? I found that probably the most unmoving scene in the episode. And Toby - he was asking for sex BEFORE the surgery, not after - he asked for only a kiss after. |
How were you not moved by that? He hears Rebecca crying, so he goes and sacrifices his pride by going to his Dad, whom he probably hasn't seen in years and who doesn't even know he's married, and asking for money. His Dad assumes that he is a loser who needs it for gambling, so he just agrees that he's a loser so that his Dad can feel good and give him the money. He puts himself through this humiliating experience so that he can buy a house for his wife and triplets. |

It set a new high in the demo in terms of viewers:

New PP, but I think my lack of being moved by much of what Jack does is that I think he's a bit of a controlling a$$ (a bit like Jess on GG, actually). I know we're supposed to think it's a grand gesture that he hears Rebecca crying so he goes and surprises her with a house, but I don't feel that way. I feel like he went and bought a house without even talking to her about it! All of it comes back to the first episode where he refuses to let the doctor have a conversation about what to do if something goes wrong with the delivery, even when Rebecca is saying she wants to have that conversation. It's always about Jack being a hero and saving the day. |
It's also not 2017 in those scenes. |
I agree. I do like the show, but it really does try so very hard to be earnest and touching. I think it's because I know they're trying so hard that I don't get pulled in by it. I haven't cried once, unlike a lot of other PPs. I only cry when I'm blindsided by things, and I haven't been blindsided once during this show. I'm sure I'll continue with it, and maybe they'll surprise me. ![]() |
Why does Jack always look so scuzzy? That greasy, messy, stringy hair. Yuck. |
