When is the next episode? |
Well, I think the bio dad and his wife are good, so, not really. |
I was reading this thread while watching the first episode of The Get Down and the bio dad appeared on the TV! He was playing a sax and wearing a cape. LOL |

Yes. He is also in Luke Cage as one of the older, chess playing guys in the barber shop (a series regular). He's fantastic, I'm so glad he's getting so much good work to do. |
I finally caught up on the episodes.....I don't know who did the casting, but they nailed it. I think this show would not work with a different cast. Even the kids they are using for the various time jumps are doing a good job and is realistic. |
Ugh this series is so overwrought and shlock'y.
At my mom's home for the holidays and they are binge watching the show. Can't escape the tears! Multiple boxes of tissues have been consumed by my wife and mother. |
Just caught up - I love this show. Yes, it is schlocky but I care about the characters and their storylines and, while I have my favorites of course, each is a good actor in his/her own right. |
Ugh Olivia. Hate her. |
Damn this show. It's so cheesy in parts and pretty unrealistic, but I love it. Just watched the latest episode and cried way too much lol |
We're supposed to hate Olivia. You're doing great. |
I just watched the first episode and found it very cheesy too. Am I missing something? Does it get better? People have raved about it to me but it seemed to be trying SO hard to be touching and poignant, which I have an aversion to. Should I keep trying? |
Its a constant friggin hallmark card event.
However, Randall really only needs to appear on screen now and I begin to weep / laugh / weep. The others, not so much. Kate did a terrible job of "acting" in the hospital scenes. Blank eyes, zero emotion, totally boring. |
It's a really cheesy show but I really needed this after deciding to quit The Walking Dead. This show is good, but it's a cheesy drama and I like not having to get too wrapped up in it. I'm glad Toby's okay. |
