I just looked at the FIFA schedule and I am wondering if an 8.00am match is our time or Russia time?

That's Eastern time. Unlike the Olympics, US television audiences do not control event timings in soccer--the big market is Europe. So they schedule it to fit prime viewing hours over there.

No, the games are scheduled however they fit in the home country. Its the World Cup, production companies bid on it years ago and people are going to watch regardless of time.

Russia has a new record. Before today, no sub has ever scored in a World Cup opener. Two different ones have today. The Russia coach looks like a genius!
