To be fair, France got to the final by beating stronger teams (than the ones Croatia had to play against : Russia, Denmark, England) and beat them without needing extratime or shoot outs. So, yes, fair play that France won.

I am not. But there is a clear FIFA bias in favor of "regular" winners. The whole world knows this.

I think France was probably more talented overall, certainly if you go position by position, but Croatia got screwed by some really poor refereeing. A pity given how well they've played throughout. We hosted a party with around 20 people, and almost all were rooting for France at the start. The whole room turned for Croatia by the end. Ah well, lots of good soccer regardless.

Yes, Griezmann dived. Free kick could not have resulted in goal.
The handball was appropriately punished by a penalty. 50/50 nonetheless. Penalty could have been missed.


It was an excellent match! The better team won. France did not even look like it had to stretch that much to win. It played just enough to be ahead of the game and then retreated into defense. Allez, les Bleus!
