I like France. They are a fun team, loaded with talent. But I actually teared up at the end of the game because I was so sad for Croatia. I'm glad Modric won the Golden Ball. He's been a joy to watch.

I disagree too. That dive by Griesmann set the ton, shifted the game, and I had once really respected him as a player. |

But it didn't necessarily have to result in a goal. That was Mandzukic's fault, and Croatia's for setting up too close to their own keeper and blocking his vision. The odds of scoring on any free kick are never good. |

The better team won today, 4-2. Not in overtime, not in penalty kicks, and not due to refs. Croatia has a fantastic team, and played very well, but France played better, and won by 2 goals. People need to suck it up and deal.
The Croatian president gets major props for her decorum and respect during the award ceremony. Not sure if this was shown on Fox but it was pouring down rain, buckets of rain, and each player on both teams had to shake hands with the FIFA official, Putin, Macron, and the Croatian President. And it was super raining. Suddenly a person holding an umbrella appears for Putin, but no one else. Does he defer it to anyone else, NO. Then then fifa official man gets one, then some other guy, and soon it’s just Macron and the Croatian president getting soaked. Neither stops shaking hangs or talking to players. Then Macron gets an umbrella but points to the Croatian president because she doesn’t have one. It was so ridiculous. She never misses a beat. Never. I have so much respect. |

| Referee should have been selected from a country that did not play against Croatia is this tournament, to make it absolutely fair. The World Cup is all about representing one's country and emotions run high even for referees. Selecting an Argentinian referee was highly unfair towards the Croatian team. |

People knock the US, but the female on stage would have gotten the umbrella before anyone else if it were in the US...at least when Trump wasn’t President. He has bigger hair issues so not sure he’d give one up for a lady. |

| The penalty kick was a game changer. That really set things on a different course. That sucked big time for Croatia. |
