Who can mount my TVs?

Anonymous
I just got off a 40 min call with Best Buy/Geek Squad where they tried to upsell by $220 and then said first available time was in May. Hoping DCUM can recommend someone who can do the mounting and connect a gaming system. I’m not the best with electronics which is why I’m willing to pay for the confidence it’s done properly.

Op: that hurts. No, unfortunately I’m dealing with a very difficult separation and had to move to a new house with the kids.
Hoped this site could be a resource instead of hurtful.

The pp is a jerk.

Check out Amazon home services. I think it’s around $100-$125 for tv mounting.

I’m married and my DH doesn’t know tits from toggle bolts. I, on the other hand, am a master of mounting.

OP, is your new place a sfh or an apartment? Asking to determine if you have wood or metal studs. You can totally hire someone, but you should also know that you can definitely do this yourself.

Assuming SFH with wood studs, get thee to a hardware store. Buy toggle bolts and wood screws and if you don’t have one, a corded drill and a box of drill bits. Bring the tv mounting thing and if the first sales person doesn’t seem knowledgeable, try someone or somewhere else.

Worst case scenario is that you put some extra holes in the wall and ffs it is only a wall and you are dealing with a lot so that seems pretty damn reasonable.

Yes, she can do this part. But before this I would ask how she plans to plug it in. Chances are there is not an electrical outlet on the upper wall where she plans to mount the tv. So is she going to run the cord from the tv down to a plug? Does a plug exist around the bottom of the wall that she can access? Is the cord long enough to reach from the tv to the outlet?

I have confidence that she can figure this out. It's unlikely Task Rabbit was going to run electrical behind the wall anyway. P.S. your TV is mounted too high.

You can find someone on Task Rabbit, but if you have a friend over to help you can definitely do it yourself. Just make sure you drill into a stud because TVs are heavy!
