Masking policy Arlington Diocesan Schools

The number of exposure emails they have received over the last two years from the school is about the same number as we have received from our norther va catholic where masks are required. The children are healthy and happy. Meanwhile at our school we received a letter last week stating we can choose not to wear masks anymore, but there was also a page full of begging us to wear them. We decided to see what others did....Well the few children who have chosen to to mask-up are set off in the corder of the room. It is very sad and not ver christian like. Furthermore, there is no science that the basks are protecting the children. Do yourself a favor and take a drag from a cigarette and then blow it out with a cloth mask on. You will then understand the science. Do yourself another favor and read international settings. Plenty of countries with kids at school with no masks and less cases than the U.S. Unfortunately the mask mandates are political and nothing to do with science. So sad that everything has become political and we are pitted against each other. That is a move used to control people.

+1000 THIS!

Name the school that has masked kids in the corner.

At drop off, I saw one of the elderly nuns at our school wearing what looked like 5 masks. But, at least the parents have their choice though! I feel for the older staff. Wish the governor could have waited a month or so for all of this.

Agreed. It seems more like the plan for UNMASKED kids.

100%! He could have called that that it was his plan to fulfil his campaign promise but he will do so once numbers hit a certain level etc.

Poor staff!

On Monday, my son's teacher thanked her 4th grade students who continued to wear masks. Later in the day, she lectured and guilted the maskless. One of the kids felt bad and put a mask on, insisting he wanted to wear it but his parents decided not. Needless to say, my son came home pleading with me to NOT sign the waiver (even though he recently had covid and has antibodies).

West Virginia is top 10 for death per million. Virginia is bottom 10.

When you are smoking WV style, wear a better mask.

Our neighbor, a healthy 10 year old boy, has had covid twice. Once in October and again over winter break. Unfortunately the antibodies were not enough for him.

Saw an interesting take on this on Bill Maher:

Some friends of ours opted to go maskless and do not believe in vaccinating children. They also do not want school shut downs or virtual - explain to me that disconnect.

They are leading the way. It’s time for quarantines and isolations to end. The more people that unmask the more difficult it becomes to do that.

People are vaccinated. We have treatments. We don’t need to quarantine healthy people anymore. We don’t need to close schools.

I know a 5 year old pre-K student at an area Catholic grade school who is in the ICU as of this AM with COVID.

Congrats all, this is what we’ve signed up for.
