Jennifer was the one who approached Mariane Pearl for the rights to her book a mighty heart. She had said in many interviews that it was becoming her passion project and even expressed wanting to play Mariane. Part of their deal allowed Mariane to have the final casting say about her character which is her right but there was a lot of disagreements over it. Mariane had her own picks, which included Angelina because they had been friends for some time before the smith movie/affair. Well the divorce happened and Mariane got her wish.Anyway that's why it took so long for the movie to be made and casted. In interviews for promo they changed it to Brad approaching Mariane. That was a lie to avoid crediting Jennifer .

Looking back maybe Jennifer should have stepped back and realized that project wasn't for her. Still it wasn't cool.

That I agree but Stepping back, I see 11:31's POV now.I always saw it from Jennifer's POV and how upset she must have been to lose that project. In the end it was Mariane's book and her life. I remember her being portrayed as being difficult in the beginning but she had every right to choose who she wanted to play her. They should have just changed her race instead to accommodate Mariane.

Yeah, just based in his own interviews he was a terrible and angry drunk. Now the kids are confirming it in their own way. I bet he doesn't remember half the stuff he said to them when inebriated and even worst doesn't want to remember. You'd think he'd have gone out of his way to be generous toward Jolie, to atone for his misdeeds. She's looked pretty frail and unwell since the split, still does even seven years later. I think he did a number on her. Just like he did a number on Jennifer Aniston, who didn't seem too well for a while after their split. God I could write an essay with all the ways he and his friends screwed over Jennifer. Everyone talks about the affair but she also lost Plan b. She hinted at it a bit during her recent wsj interview when she talked about it being a boys club. Well the divorce happened and Mariane got her wish.Anyway that's why it took so long for the movie to be made and casted. In interviews for promo they changed it to Brad approaching Mariane. That was a lie to avoid crediting Jennifer .

Looking back maybe Jennifer should have stepped back and realized that project wasn't for her. Still it wasn't cool.
