So you're saying the need to oppose Schultz trumped what would have been the first school in the county named after a Hispanic-American, even though Mendez was a war hero and educator who lived in the neighborhood and Ryan McElveen had recently said there need to be more schools named after women and minorities? It's good to know the School Board is governed based on personalities rather than principles. |
Do you really think that was it? I thought it was because Mendez was not African-American. Keys-Gamarra was so determined that Thurgood Marshall be honored, she saw nothing else. |
Justice is a good name. Anything bad come up on a person that is also a good thing. Place names and concepts are always better than a person. Smart move for Justice. |
Hasn't attracted many donations, that's for sure. |
Shouldn't you guys and gals be out getting signature on the petition, instead of commenting here.
Oh I forgot - it is a bunch of false stories. |
Donations Submitted as of 12/01/17: $15,670.00
Thank you for your donations! 3 days and another $20! |
That makes me sad. I have zero respect for those Hollywood hypocrites like Bruce Cohen and Julianne Moore. They are both obscenely rich and not helping out in a meaningful way. |
So any updates on the court case today. another day, another FCPS lawsuit. |
What court case? |
On the court docket today at 10AM Fairfax County School Board, The #CL-2017-0012308 Sandy S. Evans and Dr. Braband also listed as co-defendants |
Are the documents pertaining to this case available somewhere on line? Is this the petition for recall of Sandy Evans? |
This case is just against the school board for the Name Change which was filed on behalf of a few residents a few months ago I believe. The recall petition is a separate legal matter. No, that level of detail documents is paywalled or you can go to court. Just curious if anyone has access or knows anything. |
The petition is full of inaccuracies. They are not helping their cause with it. |
Over 12 charges, who reads all that before signing "Too many damn pages for anyone to understand" - Lin Manuel-Miranda, Hamilton, "Thomas Jefferson" |
The court case and petition are frivolous, and any sensible judge would dismiss both. If a discretionary school board decision like this is something a court decides it can overturn, it's an invitation to appeal just about every School Board decision with which anyone disagrees to a local court. |
