A shame he's not being protected.

The dad is still around, right?

Isn't he almost 30 now? I think his parents protected him when he was a kid but now he's a grown man with a job and (as far as I know) he's living on his own.

Clearly he isn't used to talking about this. But maybe that's because he hasn't talked about this in all these years.

He's 29 now. Maybe he needed the money and that's why he chose to go on Dr. Phil?

Watching the ID special now. Damn you DCUM, now I'm hooked on this case. I was only 13 when it happened but I remember reading all the People stories and watching all the news since we were from Denver.

Good points. To me, the fact that they didn't immediately make themselves available for interview is a huge red flag. I can't imagine what kind of parents wouldn't do everything they could to help police catch the killer. Since I know I didn't do anything wrong, let them do whatever they need to do to eliminate me as a suspect instead of wasting time investigating me.

Unfortunately two world doesn't work this way. You are lucky to be so naive. Plenty of innocent people are out in jail. If you are a suspect, and you are smart, you get a lawyer. Anything you say can and will be used against you.

They could have gotten a lawyer and done the interviews with the lawyer present. They stalled instead. (And FWIW, I am a lawyer.)

When's the last time rich white people went to prison for a murder they had zero to do with? I'm sure it's happened once or twice, but it's not a frequent occurrence.

I would take the chance in hopes of catching the killer.

They did answer police questions for hours right from the beginning. Then they got a lawyer and would not give further interviews because they realized the police were incompetent, had completely botched the crime scene, and were solely focused on them, and were not looking for the real killer. Even the woman police detective said she could tell it was Jon by looking at him. What kind of detective work is that. They dismissed Santa who was a freak obsessed with JB for know good reason.

The police "were not looking for the real killer"? Why not? Why would all these individual police men and women who had so much less money and power than the Ramseys find it in their interest to go after a wealthy grieving family rather look elsewhere? What's the logic?

Also, the notion that a disgusting stalking pedophile wouldn't throw in something about the girl being so beautiful or having been watching her or anything in their multi-page ransom note is unlikely.

Exactly. They should have kicked her off the case after that day. She's nuts.

Why of all things to bring to the hospital before his heart surgery would he bring something from JB. Because he was obsessed with her. What kind of people are obsessed with little girls. Pedophile freaks. What kind of people sexually assault and kill little girls. Pedophile freaks.

It was Santa. His behavior was bizarre.

That is so stupid. Have you read their book. She was not mentally ill. She was on sedatives days after the murder because she could not deal with what had happened to her daughter which is a normal response.

It's a scenario that makes more sense to me than some of the others. I'm not sure what reading a book they "wrote" proves.

Why don't you read the book first.

The police had the strangest theories as to why Patsy must have killed JB. One was that she wore the same clothes on the morning of 12/26 as she had the evening of the 25th. Their theory was that rich people would never wear the same clothes twice in a row. That is ridiculous. Patsy was rushing around the first few minutes she woke up to get the family ready for an early morning flight. She didn't even shower. Normally when they flew in the private plane they would even just transport the kids in their pjs. They were planning to take the flight just to meet their other older children and go to Michigan to their vacation house and relax. So the police thought it must be Patsy because she wore the same sweater twice.

Why doesn't anyone (Dr.Phil, ID Channel, etc) discuss Santa's daughter being abducted or killed on Dec 26 too? Was that just a rumor?

I think that they walked into that house and had no notion of suspecting the parents. They kind of, sort of searched the house but obviously not very well - in the early phase they were mainly looking for ways that an intruder could have entered/exited. They allowed the Ramseys to invite their friends over. They allowed Patsy's sister to take a carload of random items out of the house.....

some forensic experts believe that jon benet may have been sexually abused. she was still having frequent potty accidents. frequent drs visits for vaginitis. some believe a family member was abusing her. do more research. the ramseys are vrry wealthy and definitely capable of covrring up those details. poor little innocent child.

The random note was just a bunch of movie quotes to throw off the police. Obviously it wasn't a "foreign faction". The note just got personal at the end when the writer was mocking John.
