Trump's Address to Congress - March 4

Oh that’s right, if they fixed the laws then they won’t have anything to complain about when the democrats are in office.

The GOP controls congress and they have done nothing. They sit back and let Leon run the country.

Exactly. Now is the time to implement common sense visa and immigration reforms to bring in labor while solving the issues with asylum and everything else but instead what do we get? Tax cuts for the rich, ban paper straws, wokeness, EVs, and the Gulf of America and other crap that doesn't really fix anything or help the everyday American.

Just provable lie after lie.

Not a Trump voter but gas prices are very low right now where I live.

They have crept up since Trump took office, all over the mid-Atlantic. Pretty much all costs have. He's doing nothing to bring prices down and now tariffs and trade war will drive them up even more.

I'm not arguing with you and I don't live in the mid-Atlantic. Just stating a fact that gas is low and prices have been dropping for several weeks. I agree that other costs are going up. Grocery prices are outrageous.

^^and I agree prices can't remain this low in my region with the tariffs in place.

Democrats have a problem and they don’t have the bandwidth to figure it out.

They don’t have the leadership to figure it out

Yes we know. What has to stop is the focus on reaffirming what we know to be true to ourselves and other like minded folks. We need to start putting ourselves in the shoes of his supporters, what speaks to them, how to speak to them and approaching our issues that way. No one is ever going to say they are against government waste, excellent platform, the reality doesn’t seem to matter. Biden was killing it his last term on almost all fronts, but all he ever spoke about was things most Americans couldn’t relate too, and the Dems allowed the right to dictate the platforms. I’ll never forget the immigrant gas station workers I was speaking to who told me they were voting for Trump. They said they felt he didn’t think they were helpless government moochers and they didn’t want to hear anymore about a few people who didn’t know if they were a man or a woman, they didn’t care what these people were, they just didn’t want to hear about it anymore. this was their take away from what he was saying. It was profound. These are the folks the Dems need to be able to reach. I don’t understand what they don’t understand about that.

The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.

Both of the above. Pelosi has to go and take Schumer with her. They can be advisors but they need solid, non-controversial middle of the ground leaders dedicated to making every Americans life better. Not just focusing on sticking it to the rich and giving it to the poor. Jamie Raskin isn’t perfect but I could get behind someone like him.

I gritted my teeth and watched last night. Not a DJT voter nor a fan at all.

The Dems are in a really tough spot and need some strong leadership to get them back on track. IMO, the are grossly lacking that leadership right now. Seems like they are all drifting around aimlessly. Or the classic "This is fine" Dog in Hell cartoon.

The whole pink dress and sign thing was certainly visible, but pretty weak. If you don't clap for a kid with cancer, you look awful. If you do...well.

Trump played them last night - who doesn't feel sympathy for a mother whose daughter was murdered? Let's get them up in the Gallery. Who didn't want Marc Fogel to get released and feel truly happen that he was able to see his 95 yo Mom? Get them up there too.

As a Dad of a HS daughter that's an athlete, I don't want biological males participating on female teams.

I almost would have rather seen more reactions like Rep. Green's or a larger scale walk out.

It's a sad day for me as I can only expect more of Trump's bloviating and frankly with that, real harm done to the country.

Let's hope the Dems can figure it out.

Pelosi looked ridiculous with her half-on half-off facemask. So did she need it or not?

Maybe she could feel there were no germs around at that moment, so that’s why she kept going it off? You don’t know.

Right. They are trying to say the republic is about to fail/be irretrievably corrupted/appoint a dictator for life and oh here is the evil evil evil person who is going to destroy the US forever, I know lets hold up little signs, that’s gonna show him.

🙄

So pathetic.

This is why there is a lack of mass protests. Some small ones of course, but they aren’t acting like the house is on fire.

Because nobody other than some DCUMs and NGO lobbyists thinks the house is actually on fire. I don’t think that is right, by the way. But it is true.

He’s tanking the economy and turning us into an international menace. It doesn’t matter what Democrats say, or Trans, or DEI. Once Grandma has to move home because Medicaid is raided, Republicans are going to get kicked to the curb.
Nobody votes “for” a party - they vote to punish the screw ups of the incumbent. And Trump is making a lot of screw ups.

Grandma is on Medicare not Medicaid.

In total, 12 million people are "dually eligible" and enrolled in both Medicaid and Medicare, composing more than 15% of all Medicaid enrollees.
