There is no inflation. (a year ago)
Oh, there is inflation, but it is transitory. (11 months ago)
It is due to Covid.
Supply chains are to blame.
It is because of Big Oil.
It is the fault of big business and corporations.
It is Putin's price hike.
It was totally unpredictable.
It is the ultra-MAGA Republicans' fault.

Am I missing any?

And, he also said this:

And he was right about all of it except for that it was unpredictable (this was inevitable post-lockdowns) and that it's the MAGAs fault (it was inevitable - but if they're going to blame hom then he can blame them. Both are lies.). It's also not really the fault of big business, although a small minority of them are taking advantage.

Bull.
Much of this inflation is due to the increased costs in transporting goods. His war on oil and gas has played a major role in rising gas prices. Diesel is the highest it has ever been.
His American Recovery Act was another contributor to this inflation. All but one Democrat voted for it. No Republicans voted for it.

Bullspit. Get some perspective instead of being a partisan shill.

Oil prices are high because 1) Saudi price war bankrupted producers 2) Venezuela and Iran are sanctioned, Canadian producers couldnt produce at previous levels, PEMEX has major structural problems and now Russia 3) Covid created demand destruction that further exacerbated those problems 4) covid also created supply problems because of lockdown measjres 5) beacuse of 1-4 when demand came back supply was limited. Hence price goes up.

Remember when oil was -$30 per barrel two years ago?

This is the fallout of the price collapse. It take only a week to shut down oil wells and lay off everyone. It takes months and years to resume production.

I haven't been following. What war is Biden waging against oil and gas that I need to be concerned about? Thought it had to do with the Ukraine war. What would be a better course of action for him?

You are not a very deep thinker. The country is financially collapsing and crime is sky high. This ‘time in history’ was created by this administration. Deliberately, I might add. Why would these people want a weak America? Think about that for a bit.

The country is not "financially collasing."

Inflation is high worldwide.

Meanwhile, we all have jobs, our houses are worth a lot of money, the deficit has been slashed, and corporations are making record profits.

Home values are ethe next thing to collapse after the stock market is finally done.

Housing will crash as will the loan market.

Lol…there is no support for this statement. Indicators don’t show that at all, foreclosures and bankruptcies are historically low. Lending standards have been fairly tight for years now. There will likely be some local declines due to mortgage rates but there are always local declines. Near flat prices and the end of huge increases are more likely.

Oil and gas production was unaffected by his presidency. He has said time and again that there are lots of licenses for drilling that AREN'T being used. And any of the future drilling doesn't affect prices NOW.

Not gonna happen.

I love the creepy pseudo suBliminal messaging on the drop-cloth behind a Biden. It’s like his staff are reading 1984 for guidance on how to run government. Pro tip! It’s NOT a manual!

Malarkey. A license to drill is the first step. His administration has been slow walking permits to transport the oil. And many of these sites don’t have oil.

Biden is doing great.

April CPI 8.3%.

Expectation was an easing from 8.5 in March to 8.1 in April. Futures dove immediately as the easing was not as much as expected.

Didn't Biden explicitly note yesterday that inflation will probably get worse before it gets better? You don't say that if you think inflation estimates were going to be good news the next day.

My ability to fully enjoy and regulate my life is worth a million times more than this temporary inflation.

This a bunch of moms from my kids school who typically vote for public and due to small business and taxes are up in arms over this ruling. They're coming out and saying they will support Democratic candidates who will protect their rights and the rights of their daughters. I guess you don't want to to make the mommy crowd mad. Way to go! Republicans.

This. If you think inflation is scary, try an unwanted child. There is nothing scarier for a woman, from every standpoint you can imagine. In terms of personal finance, it's a bombshell even without inflation.
