I’ve started reporting when it veers into politics. And Jeff is removing a locked a thread today. Encourage you to do the same.

Shocker

If the “concerned mom” is an actress does she get residuals if she’s used in political ads?

You don't think GOP knows what is going on at SB meetings? It has been in the news, did you know that?

According to her LinkedIn, she is/was a member of SAG, so probably.

You think this is not about schools? It is ALL about schools.

Of course they *know* because they are orchestrating it.

Yes. Just like they orchestrated the closures--after giving parents the option. Just like they orchestrated changing TJ requirements. Just like they orchestrated all the new "Equity" initiatives-to include paying for very expensive workshops attended only by 'leaders." Just like they orchestrated the Social-Emotional survey. Just like they orchestrated watering down math instruction.

I am a 40 year old woman and I was disgusted by the so-called language in this "young adult" novel. I don't want my 12 year old to read this, let alone have access to this "literature". It doesn't belong in school libraries.

What issue do you have with the language in Paulsen's Lawn Boy? It is an incredibly-innocent book, geared towards 8-12-year-olds, about mowing lawns and setting up a business. I don't recall there being any foul language or explicit content whatsoever in Paulsen's Lawn Boy.

If you aren't okay with your 12-year-old readreading that book, what are you comfortable with them reading?

Brilliant. Thank you.

Elected officials and employees doing their jobs versus national political groups inspiring and encouraging random people to disrupt, threaten and cause chaos about a spre-formed set of “issues.” Astroturfing.

OK. To Lawn Boy by Paulsen PP--It's a different book. Different author.

You are talking about the wrong book.

If the Dem-controlled school board doesn't want the GOP pouncing on their screw-ups, unpopular policies and grating personalities, they should maybe not have so many of them.

Jonathan Evison is the controversial book titled “Lawn Boy.”

Here are some explicit excerpts from the book put in school libraries for 13 year-olds (note: material may not be suitable for DCUM members under age 13):

Was this the actress that Youngkin used for his ad?
