Political Discussion
Who do you think enlists? |
Agree yawn. Israel has the most powerful military in the region, backed be the US, and lots of rich successful Jews spread across the globe willing (and able) to support them financially and otherwise. So, like ‘em or don’t, they’re not going anywhere and will continue to dominate the region regardless of whether they have been there 10 years or a thousand. The smart Arab countries have realized this and are now just about selling oil and other resources to make as much money as possible. They are true capitalist at heart and know that war is bad for business. |
lol wish casting. The area which is Israel today has not been a state for over 2,000 years. There is a reason for that. The area has no resources, is not in strategic location, is surrounded by larger countries and is desert. The US will be forced to leave the gulf region by Iran. The US population is done with supporting Israel and doing its bidding. Iran is a historic power in the region that has been suppressed by the US for Israel. The Arab states now realize there is no reason to seek favor with United States and therefore no reason to do anything with Israel. The Middle East has changed in 30 days. Oh also without the US “leading” Europe the European will walk away from Israel. |
| I see why the neocons pushed for a new pearl harbor in their manifesto for the 21st century. Without 9/11, it doesn’t appear the war on terror would’ve worked. I am fearful another 9/11 event will happen |
These kinds of posts are like so much manna from heaven. The narcissism and unbridled hubris nourish my soul. |
If war is bad for business and Israel’s military is so strong, then why are you pushing America to do it? |

US faces total collapse in six months if war continues.

“Trump has two military options to open the strait: seizing territory, or deploying a massive naval presence in the waterway. Even the limited ground incursion being considered risks the kind of body count that could sink a presidency, experts say. For Iran, boots on the ground would be a red line.”
Emma Salisbury, a senior fellow in the national security programme at the Foreign Policy Research Institute, said she believed Trump would not be able to resist escalating the conflict by capturing one of the Iranian islands in the Gulf. |

We are so screwed:
No direct US-Iran negotiations have taken place - Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei, spokesperson for the Iranian foreign ministry, has reaffirmed that Iran has not had any direct negotiations with the US, in comments carried by the Tasnim news agency. “What has been discussed are messages we received through intermediaries stating that the US wants to negotiate,” he was quoted as having said. “Iran has been clear about its position from the beginning, and we know very well what the framework is that we are considering. The material conveyed to us has been excessive and unreasonable requests.” |

Three cheers for Spain! They refuse to allow any USA military jets to use their airspace for any reason, other than emergency.

Why do people keep citing random people? John Mearsheimer and Robert Pape are pretty much two of the foremost scholars on this and they've already said all of this for months and years. They warned against any military action against Iran. But now too late for that. Now they're warning against going up the escalation ladder. Again, why name random people? Everybody thinks the same thing. But some people have decades of experience advising world leaders. |
I wish more world leaders would have their b@lls. |
It's the type of fighting that Israel will not be ready for. When people are willing to die for their cause, it changes warfare. |
It was from the guardian. Maybe the others are seen as partisan, maybe they didn’t agree to an interview in the pre-dawn hours, who knows? |

Apparently this a boomer war, only people over 60 approve:
“ The conflict’s anachronistic quality appears not just in the aging leaders who initiated it, but across the American body politic as well. The “Boomer war” approaches majority support only among Americans over 60. From there, its popularity falls with each younger cohort, until bottoming out around a mere one-in-five adults under 30” Excerpt From “Opinion | Trump is fighting a ‘Boomer war’ in Iran: a relic unpopular with anyone under 60” Stephen Wertheim The Guardian https://apple.news/A691hsp0ZSdSIdbBbdgklcw This material may be protected by copyright.” |
