any kids hate pizza?

I have a 3 year old that hates pizza. I try to do Friday pizza night at home once in a while, and got him cheese breadstick, cheese only pizza, or any toppings that he wants. He just says No, and sometimes tears up at the sight of pizza served at home, and go starving for the nights. For the last couple times, we get invited to pizza kid birthday party, and I have to bring his own food, that is quite sad.

I did this when I was a kid. I was the only one not eating pizza at parties.

Looking back, I did this because I was grasping for control.

Anyway, I'm sorry.

I know a 19-year-old who still won't touch it ... he has always been a very picky eater but in the past couple years, has broadened his horizons - eating things we NEVER DREAMED he'd enjoy or even try. That said, he still refuses to Give Pizza a Chance... Ha!

Anyway, I think it's the cheese ... the texture freaks him out. But sorry, OP - I understand your concern, simply on a social level.

My kids don't like pizza, cake, or ice cream. I have no idea why. I love those things! I have pizza once in a while but mostly at lunch. Pizza for dinner just isn't worth it since I'm the only one that will eat it.

This started when they were in preschool. They just declined to eat at parties. I never provided them anything special. If the party occurred during a meal time, I would feed them before hand.

They would just sit in the party room and socialize with their friends when it was time for pizza and cake.

We have a tight group of friends now in late elem school and it's the group joke that my kids don't eat "kid" food.

Ha! OMG, PP - you are hilarious.

Have you gained control? Are you still a control freak? Readers want to know

One of my daughter's friends hates pizza. First she didn't like cheese, then she didn't like sauce.

We all have foods we love, and foods we hate, especially in childhood.

There's nothing to be more "sad" about because your child hates a popular food. If your child hated fish, you wouldn't be posting to a thread. But there's nothing more objectively "fine" about fish vs. pizza, or vice versa.

Mine did at that age. Same with ice cream. Now elementary school and only likes some kinds of pizza but likes ice cream. Just keep offering it.

Sorry to interrupt your thread with an advertisement, OP but not kidding, the Freschetta brand GLUTEN FREE pizza is by far the best frozen pizza I've ever tried. My Father's friend is a gluten-free advocate and that's the only reason I tried it... Now I won't buy anything else; it's that good.

Resume regular programming...

Yes, I know a kid who hates tomatoes, even when cooked into sauce, so he wont touch pizza with any sauce.

I think he'll eat white pizza.

2 of my 4 don't like it. 1 has allergies.
They don't like sauce, and only like cold cheese, not cooked.

1 of my older kid's friends hated pizza. She finally started eating it around age 9 or so, because it was always served at bday parties.

One son loves pizza (but not cookies) the other gates pizza (but loves cookies). But both like chicken nuggets...

This sounds like the beginning of one of those math problems

I have one that hates 'thick bread' which caused him to hate pizza. He only eats sandwiches as wraps and even today will turn his nose up at pizza if the crust is too thick. He also never eats the actual crust edge. Other bread items he won't eat because they're too thick... pancakes, waffles, subs... if he didn't look exactly like me I'd think a switch was made because bread is so freakin' delicious!

Ha! See OP? There's always hope! Peer pressure has its place!
