Looking back, I did this because I was grasping for control.

Anyway, I'm sorry.

Ha! OMG, PP - you are hilarious.

Have you gained control? Are you still a control freak? Readers want to know

I have! Well, some. I'm probably more of a control freak than some and less than others.

My singled mom was a control freak. I really think the pizza renunciation was a response to her BS.

I think it was around 4 that I gave up pizza. I think it was about 4 years later that I 'tried' it and though to myself 'Why on Earth am I not eating this?'

I went on a few hunger strikes as a kid as a control thing. Even pizza didn't get me out of it.

My college roommate did this as a child, too. He used to proudly say that as a toddler he 'renounced the world'.

Was your college roommate Kanye?

No but he was, and still is, a musician. And back then he had delusions of grandeur, but not on Kanye's level.

What next? You find her hiding in her closet, scarfing down a whole lasagna? Stop the madness now, PP!

Kidding - your experience is a good example of "give it time."

Ha but this is so true. She just started liking cheese lasagna this year and prefers the school's recipe to mine. Same with Panera soup, which are all apparently better than my homemade versions. Work in progress!

I had the same reaction - it does not compute.

Not quite.
His band has a song called "cocaine asslicker blues".

Stand up for your rights, PP! Do we need to start a GoFUndME? A hashtag movement? We've got your back.

"Hate" is a strong term, but my kid doesn't really like pizza. At a party, she'll pick off pepperoni and eat the crust.

My kid hated it until K, when he had it every Friday at lunch. Then I think all of the kids celebrating about "pizza!" made him catch on.

He did have lactose intolerance until age 2, and after that he just never was a fan of cheese at all until a few years later. So I always thought that it had to do with that, but who knows.

Actually no I won't.
He won't like that I said he had delusions of grandeur.
