This sounds like the beginning of one of those math problems

It totally does! I can see this on the SAT.

Henry hates pizza but loves cookies. Sam hates cookies but loves pizza. Both boys love chicken nuggets. How many tacos should their mom buy?

Looking back, I did this because I was grasping for control.

Anyway, I'm sorry.

Ha! OMG, PP - you are hilarious.

Have you gained control? Are you still a control freak? Readers want to know

I have! Well, some. I'm probably more of a control freak than some and less than others.

My singled mom was a control freak. I really think the pizza renunciation was a response to her BS.

I think it was around 4 that I gave up pizza. I think it was about 4 years later that I 'tried' it and though to myself 'Why on Earth am I not eating this?'

He just says No, and sometimes tears up at the sight of pizza served at home, and go starving for the nights. For the last couple times, we get invited to pizza kid birthday party, and I have to bring his own food, that is quite sad.

My niece hates pizza and growing up my DH hated french fries! Unfortunately, now he loves french fries a little too much. If I were you I would just make him something he likes or order something that you know he will eat ( spaghetti or whatever) but, I wouldn't stop ordering pizza and deprive myself.

Out of my two kids one doesn't like the pizza closest to my house. Sometimes we compromise and order two pizzas from two different locations but, now she will at least eat the pizza.

Stubborn, yet open minded ... I respect that

I went on a few hunger strikes as a kid as a control thing. Even pizza didn't get me out of it.

That's called courage, my friend.

My DD hated pizza until around age 5. Then she liked it with no or very little sauce. Now at 10 she loves it although not with too much sauce and preferably with lots of pepperoni.

What next? You find her hiding in her closet, scarfing down a whole lasagna? Stop the madness now, PP!

Kidding - your experience is a good example of "give it time."

The reckless courage of youth. I couldn't do it now.

Be grateful - it would only cause hair-loss and skin issues... and if you're anything like me, I can be unpleasant when I'm hungry.

No but pizza upsets both my kids stomachs. They’re little but know this and don’t eat it.

My college roommate did this as a child, too. He used to proudly say that as a toddler he 'renounced the world'.
