Ironic you would say this when supposedly the argument for clubs to have misaligned players go with the younger team would be to win. |
No. The goal was to have a 12 month window that roughly aligned with school year which varies by state. If they their "goal was to have all players on a teams the same grade in school" they would have gone grade year. They didn't. Move on. |
Not the case in the DMV. The default is playing on age. Technically the oddball, if you want to call it that, will be the special case asking to play up to play on grade without the skills to merit playing up. FYI, your misuse of playing down isn't working because grade is only your thing, it isn't in club soccer. Most think you are talking about biobanding. It's like Q4s saying they were playing up under BY. They weren't. |
|
It seems that Q3/4 kis WERE playing up under BY we just didnt know it at the time.
Those kids will now reap the Bennifits. |
Weren't, still a 12 month window. Benefits goes to oldest not youngest |
|
The shift from BY to SY was clearly to align folks more closely with their school mates. However it may be to promote the idea of kids playing the game longer because they are with the schoolmates, and less about alignment for college recruiting.
For those saying that an August player playing on age instead of playing on grade will not be selected on the A-Team for their age, this contradicts coaches that I've spoken to who say they will pick the most competitive team to win and excluding players based on grade is complete nonsense. |
| 1 year window before, and 1 year window after, so simple. Don't listen to any other bullshit. |

From large club in Texas Division:
Players will for sure play in their age division. It has zero to do with their grade, it’s a birthdate alignment. Clubs want to win, even if forces kids into wrong grade. |
Some clubs only want to win. Others might take a few other things into consideration. Pick wisely if you can. We'll all see when it actually happens. |
So you've taken to modifying posts from yesterday editing and reposting them to align with your delusion. Here's what was posted yesterday. Such a loser. "Big club in Texas where Sept 1 is the school date. Our club said for August kids, they will have conversations and are open to playing with the appropriate grade. However, thats it. If some kid just started school early for vibes or whatever, they just will play with their age group." |

If the league did not change the brackets from U12, U13, U14 to 7th Grade, 8th Grade, 9th Grade, then this infinity argument is even more ridiculous for continuing
The league says age brackets using month/year Which morons are still lobbying for same grade teams? |
When your kid gets older you'll understand. But hint hint college recruits by graduating year. (not age) |
Then why use birthdates of 8/1-7/31? Why not just have G9, G10, G11, G12 teams? Serious question. |
I understand that college recruiters use graduating year as one element of recruiting I know the league uses age brackets and not school grades I know what I say is real I know what you say is a pipe dream not based on reality |
But most importantly, college coaches told clubs and on Facebook they don't care what age group you are in, just be eligible to go to college and be the best player you can be. And get good grades. College coaches recruit by graduating year but they don't recruit be youth club age group |
