The Karen meme silences White women

Ohhh, now I get it. Conservative pp who loves "Karen" labels doesn't want to call her conservative president a racist or a jerk. To her, Trump is just a little "extra"; Trump is a "Karen."

Which proves the point that "Karen" is being used very broadly, from simply complainers ... to those who are "extra" ... to those who are straight-up racists or jerks.

Conservative pp is calling people idiots for not accepting her broad definition. Which makes her a Karen, I guess.

So, Conservative Karen, how do you like being lumped in with the racist Karens? Judging by how you're desperately denying you're a Karen, I'd guess you don't like it very much.

You will just as desperately deny been labeled a pedophile because you are not.
DP

Which is the problem in a nutshell. Conservative pp desperately denies being a Karen because she thinks she's not. Even though her definition keeps changing: now it's a white woman, now it's Trump.

Even though she herself is apparently a white woman telling others how to define a "Karen", which is the most basic definition of a Karen.

There.are.several.people.posting.

Not one. If you can’t understand this, you’re wasting thread space with comments that are irrelevant because it isn’t one person making them.

DCUM's conservatives just don't know when to quit. They want to call other people "Karens" while using a selective definition that excludes themselves. And post about their god-given right to do so again.and.again.and.again.and.again.

I’m too lazy to post that “White Woman Tears” gif.

Reap the whirlwind, Karen!

Amy Cooper is a racist and a conservative.

But the word Karen is used for more than just these things. It's used to shut down any woman who dares to express an opinion that's uncomfortable to the beholder.

+1. Amy is a racist. She isn’t a Karen. The Karen is yelling in the McDonald's line for gluten free hamburger buns. It can be a man, woman, CIS, gay, transgender, whatever.

I’ll go tell Twitter and IG. They seem to think Amy is not only racist but, also a Karen.

It’s only because old people are on there. Like the mom who hashtagged #fml with a picture of friends. She thought it meant for my ladies. It actually means f*ck my life.

It happens.

Show me a non-white woman referred to as a "Karen."

Racist. (and misogynist, but PP agrees with that)

Have you ever heard a black person in the south referred to as a Southern Belle? I haven’t. Is Southern Belle racist? Do you think DC should rename the Redskins NFL team? They renamed the Bullets.

Amy doesn’t deserve the honor and respect of being called a Karen. She is just a straight up racist, willing to lie and kill her dog that also wants nothing to do with her.

Nice deflection that doesn't refute my point. "Karen" is racist and misogynist. On all those other things, feel free to change away.

It's amazing you people still can't see the problem here. Not even you people who apparently like the term "Karen" can decide on a definition. Is it OP? Is it a racist?

And that's how OP gets shut down: some of you are lumping her in with the racists. So she feels she can't even say reasonable things.

That, and the misogyny thing re making this about women.

I think this is the problem with the stereotype - even complaining are turned into women. And, I think that’s a problem for all women.

ITA. Any woman who dares complain is a problem; many people, like pp, argue that a complaining woman is as bad as a racist.

Thank you!! And I meant to say the problem with the stereotype is that even complaining MEN are turned into women.

That meme is funny. Trump is extra. Like an entitled Karen.

I posted about the meme being funny. I’m not reading all these pages of clucking to make a point. But consensus is that Karen is literally non-race specific, non-gender specific. Just a label for when you’re doing too much. By the way, I’m black, independent, and I don’t think OP was doing to much. I probably would have done the same thing she did, but not because I was afraid of being labeled as an angry black woman, but rather because I understand all of us are doing the best we can during the complicated and uncertain era.

Please don’t assume that you are talking to one poster. I’ve posted only one other time, and it was to provide links of #Karen amongst the majority of the community that is trending the term (Gen Z, Y). White women were calling other women Karens, because it’s about being extra.

We just call a racist a racist. I’m not giving racists any veiled cloaks to hide under. They have enough of those!

You seem like a nice person, and I like you. But I am going to to have to agree to disagree with you that Karen is not gender specific

Can someone please explain the notion that conservatives love the Karen meme besides them using it to claim reverse racism?

PP here. Your last question didn’t answer my question, just granted a permission that I didn’t request nor have the authority to do.

So - What are your thoughts? Just curious. I asked, you deflected. I’m not answering questions that were thrown out when I was absent from this thread. They weren’t directed to me.

Fair enough. Let’s meet for a happy hour cocktail. I’m down if you are.

It's conservatives who are posting (a lot) that Karen is a perfectly fine way to diss someone, be it a man, woman, CIS, or other, who is behaving in a way you don't like. No clue if that's widespread on social media or specific to DCUM.

It is consistent with a disregard for misogyny.

Elaborate. What types of behaviors do you not like? Would you too argue for a gluten free bun? I’m fine with shelving the Karen term and just calling that behavior entitled.

And I’m not a conservative.
