The Karen meme silences White women

Anonymous
I think “Karen” cuts across party lines - each side using it to refer to any woman doing something you don’t like. A Karen is in the eye of the beholder.

DCUM's conservatives just don't know when to quit. They want to call other people "Karens" while using a selective definition that excludes themselves. And post about their god-given right to do so again.and.again.and.again.and.again.

I’m too lazy to post that “White Woman Tears” gif.

Reap the whirlwind, Karen!

LOL no, I'm not "seething with rage," although according to your definitions, that's a very Karen thing of you to say.

If you think there's just one of us, you haven't been following the thread. And when you claim there's a "media" definition that aligns with your definition, you haven't been following the thread.

Still waiting to hear why you don't like being called a Karen yourself.

Been following the thread and you popped up screaming very loudly. You even took it over to the other thread with the video examples. You really aren’t clever. Your writing and is consistent. Along with your hypocrisy (which you continually gloss over when called out).

You also cannot seem to read. So I’ll say it yet again, I don’t care if you try to use Karen as an insult to me; even though you claim no one should be using the term. You’re a hypocrite, that much is very clear. Karen doesn’t hurt me, even if you want it to.

Nope. You're the dog with a bone who can't let go. You're apparently butthurt that you're being called a Karen. The fact that you're butthurt is obvious from the fact that you can't stop responding, even though you claim you don't care.

How many times have you posted on this thread so far? Yet you're calling others sock puppets. If you weren't sockpuppetting, excuse me, posting so much yourself, nobody would suspect you actually cared about being called a Karen.

Still waiting to hear why you can't stand being called something you want to apply to others....

Pot meet kettle. I enjoy calling out trolls. Not gonna lie. Especially trolls that show themselves so easily.

You haven’t stopped fighting since you appeared and continue to think you are clever enough that your writing isn’t the same. And you post the same things over and over again all back to back.

You want to claim Karen is an insult that shouldn’t be used, then why do you keep using it? Why do you keep ignoring that question?

Why do you keep bringing up conservatives? Aren’t conservatives the ones usually called Karens?

Because pp who is defending the use of Karen is a conservative. She also apparently doesn't care about misogyny.

So you just label people conservatives you don’t like? Similar to how Karen is used. Got it.

I think this is the problem with the stereotype - even complaining are turned into women. And, I think that’s a problem for all women.

ITA. Any woman who dares complain is a problem; many people, like pp, argue that a complaining woman is as bad as a racist.

Thank you!! And I meant to say the problem with the stereotype is that even complaining MEN are turned into women.

That meme is funny. Trump is extra. Like an entitled Karen.

Ohhh, now I get it. Conservative pp who loves "Karen" labels doesn't want to call her conservative president a racist or a jerk. To her, Trump is just a little "extra"; Trump is a "Karen."

Which proves the point that "Karen" is being used very broadly, from simply complainers ... to those who are "extra" ... to those who are straight-up racists or jerks.

Conservative pp is calling people idiots for not accepting her broad definition. Which makes her a Karen, I guess.

So, Conservative Karen, how do you like being lumped in with the racist Karens? Judging by how you're desperately denying you're a Karen, I'd guess you don't like it very much.

I posted about the meme being funny. I’m not reading all these pages of clucking to make a point. But consensus is that Karen is literally non-race specific, non-gender specific. Just a label for when you’re doing too much. By the way, I’m black, independent, and I don’t think OP was doing to much. I probably would have done the same thing she did, but not because I was afraid of being labeled as an angry black woman, but rather because I understand all of us are doing the best we can during the complicated and uncertain era.

Please don’t assume that you are talking to one poster. I’ve posted only one other time, and it was to provide links of #Karen amongst the majority of the community that is trending the term (Gen Z, Y). White women were calling other women Karens, because it’s about being extra.

We just call a racist a racist. I’m not giving racists any veiled cloaks to hide under. They have enough of those!

Amy Cooper is a racist and a conservative.

But the word Karen is used for more than just these things. It's used to shut down any woman who dares to express an opinion that's uncomfortable to the beholder.

Except she hinted she was a conservative and then didn't deny it despite being called it maybe 20 times. So there's that.

I don’t think Karen is applied for speaking out. But if that is the case, our equivalent is the “angry black woman”. Or whites people calling us “ghetto”.

+1. Amy is a racist. She isn’t a Karen. The Karen is yelling in the McDonald's line for gluten free hamburger buns. It can be a man, woman, CIS, gay, transgender, whatever.

I don’t see anyone hinting at that. It seems you brought conservative into the conversation. So there’s that.

Autocorrect needs to check itself before it wrecks itself. I typed white, not whites.

Show me a non-white woman referred to as a "Karen."

Racist. (and misogynist, but PP agrees with that)

I’ll go tell Twitter and IG. They seem to think Amy is not only racist but, also a Karen.
