The Karen meme silences White women

Anonymous
I am a white middle aged woman. Due to the Karen meme I feel like I lost my voice. When there is an injustice, I will hesitate to speak up. Don’t get me wrong, there are certainly a subset of entitled middle aged white women, however, there are other non entitled white women as well who now feel silenced after fighting to find our voice.

Nobody ever made a Karen meme over speaking up about legit injustice. As long as you aren’t berating someone for speaking Spanish in public calling the cops on a black person for j walking you are fine.

Yes I find it horrible. Part of the disgusting cancel culture of today unfortunately.

Is it illegal now?

I am the OP, not a troll. And an example of when I might have spoken in the past but did not recently. I ordered curbside pick up from a local smoothie shop a few weeks ago, before we were in phase 1 opening, the restaurant was advertising curbside Pick-up. I ordered my smoothie online, however, When I drove to the shop to pick it up there are a line of people inside the store to order and a line waiting (Inside as well) at the counter to pick up their smoothies. A year ago if this happened, pre-Karen meme, I would have said something along the lines of aren’t we supposed to be doing curbside? Why is everybody in the store? This time I just walked away.

I think that’s the point. We are sick of the outraged middle aged white woman. The problem is that your outrage is over absolutely nothing and you don’t care who you run over. Instead of building others up, you’ve focused on just yourself and tearing others down.

Honestly good! I’m sure the restaurant is just being overwhelmed with people. Why do you think they want your opinion?

That shop is a small business, no? They’re just trying to stay in business. You would’ve been a douche for outing them.

Fine, if that is how people are going to be, then ignore them, stop caring and live your life.

She couldn’t destroy her local smoothie shop by outing them for trying to survive during a pandemic!

THAT’S OPPRESSION.

Your example is shitty. Society doesn’t need you to shame and mother it into curbside pick up or whatever other rules you think we should follow.

Save your voice for the important things. Curbside pickup at a smoothie shop isn’t one of them.

53 year old white woman here.
Why would you have needed to question anything in the first place? Just ask where your food is and be done. “I’m here to pick up my online order for Karen. I’ll be just outside here.”
Why is it important to call out others?

I mean to be fair, all women’s voices have been silenced in a lot of ways for a very long time, the Karen meme didn’t start it.
