Now that would be funny. |
| It would really be unfair to pull half the kids out of Westfield and then tell the remainder, sorry, most of your APs and electives aren't available any more because no one wants to be moved here. They already have a lot fewer options then schools like Oakton and Chantilly given the different demographics. |
By advocating a move to Franklin, you are indirectly contributing to moving someone out. |
|
How? Franklin is under enrollment to begin with. Are you objecting to moving Oak Hill to Carson?
There is no correlation between crossfield move to Franklin vs Navy move out Franklin. Both Crossfield and Navy can stay at Franklin. -n +n = 0 |
Dp. When you say things that are noy rooted in reality, you weaken your overall message. You want to stay at Carson? Advocate for that. You don't have to make things up. Be smart like RIO and keep your message simple. |
| I don't think they should touch the middle school boundaries. Make high school boundaries that are fair to all the HS (eg, don't screw over poor Westfield, don't overcrowd Oakton with Herndon people, etc) and be done. |
I agree and that’s our message. If you want to advocate staying at a high school that’s fine but you then don’t get to change and cherry pick your middle school. |
You haven’t proven that the Crossfield move to Franklin doesn’t impact Navy’s move out. |
So you’re suggesting pulling both Navy and Crossfield out of Oakton when you say “don’t overcrowd Oakton with Herndon people?” That would be a big change. |
DP. Hughes is at 95% now and would be overcrowded if Fox Mill gets moved. I doubt it will happen. The following middle school feeding pattern is plausible and very clean: Fox Mill - Carson - Skyview Oak Hill - Carson - Skyview Crossfield - Franklin - Oakton This will minimize or eliminate the split feeding at Carson and help Franklin. |
|
I do not see Westfield people whining! They are happy with the school. Whether Crossfield moves in, it will not change the fact that Westfield will move to Skyview.
Can you reveal your real reason for moving Crossfield? Nobody has moved to the new development in Oakton yet? I wonder why you care about the Oakton new development so much. Seems you also care about new development in the rest of the County. Clearly you do not have kids that will be impacted by the boundary review. Why are u? |
Scroll up. I literally said I was advocating for my kids to be Carson-Skyview.
|
Who are you talking to? |
Who exactly are you responding to? |
I think it makes sense. I can look at a map and see what is right. Now, why don't you give us a valid reason why Crossfield should not be at Skyview? Not a personal one because of your child's sports' future or property values. Those are not good reasons for you to stay put over anyone else. |
